In states like TX its up to 2500, so you steal 1000 dollars worth of stuff in CA and its a state felony. You steal 2200 worth of stuff in Texas and its not and you get max 6 months or so, where in CA a 2200 theft could get you years. I will defend Newsome, he's doing a great job. I live where this incident started and watched the chase live. Let me say a few things: 1.) ANYONE without felonies is able to obtain a gun licence in CA. And yes, you can apply for a CCP. 2.) This happened around 1am when the buses are nearly empty. 3.) Republicans, Democrats, and a firearm cannot save you from a crazed murderer who is now on the run. Our police are not defunded. There was a push to reallocate the of millions of dollars toward rehabilitation programs rather than criminal ones. As you can clearly see if you watch the footage, we have a TON of officers with BIG ASS guns and brand new SUVs. Also, or SWAT team is fully functional. Finally, if you live in a place with millions of residents, there will be more crimes than a place with a few thousand. That's how math works. You will also have more public transportation, job opportunities, schools, libraries, historical landmarks, public Parks, etc.
