I just watched LA County DA Nathan Hochman's press briefing on the fires, where he proudly highlighted the arrests made for looting and arson and emphasized the DA's office's commitment to aggressively prosecuting those responsible. However, given that LA County has declared itself a sanctuary jurisdiction, I can’t help but wonder how they will handle cases involving individuals arrested who may be undocumented. Will they cooperate with ICE to ensure these individuals face appropriate consequences, or will they release them back into the community as part of their sanctuary policy? It raises important questions about the intersection of law enforcement priorities and sanctuary policies.

Agree..would love to see how they are going to do that. They should of figured they would not get all nice and people who will obey the law. They don't know where all the people are coming from or see a back ground check on them. I’ve been in survival mode for 8 years. Ever since I was taking pictures at the HLSR steer auction and was slammed by a steer. My entire neck and back were whiplashed and c7 had multiple fractures. I had three levels dislocated so the vertebrae were not locked in place they were floating. My dad said I wore a neck brace for 4 months and my neck should be healed. I lost my insurance a month before. I lost my insurance, I ended up finally getting insurance and covid shut down the hospitals and my surgery was postponed Twice. I ended up having serval neck surgeries and back surgery and will need more in the future. My neck has 5 discs, 2 plates, 2 rods and 41 screws. I went from no debt and over a hundred grand in the bank to being homeless. I supported myself for almost 4 years. You just have to focus on the task or tasks in front of you, you can get done. If you try to look at the big picture you are more likely to get get emotionally drained and break down. Trust God will provide what you NEED. Not always what you want but what you need.

You're misinformed. 2 Insurance companies stopped giving new policies out 2 years ago due to the states lack of fire prepardness and increased chances of fire. People could choose other insurance companies or the State insurance that was offered. There's been no mass denial of claims, as of yet.

Not much has been done with folks with mental illness and setting fires. 🔥 I often see fires on the sides of the freeway in California where homeless people live and their tent shelters are responsible for this. It causes major delays, distractions and serious damages. The state forbids charges against homeless individuals .. eventually no one is ever prosecuted and the cycle continues.

A wet net needs to be developed for homes by engineers , this would have benefits three fold , less fuel for the fire with homes enveloped , insurance backing with long term discounts , fire breaks with mandatory homes along forested areas to have these in the structure at permits .
