China has the best lengths of towers and Dubai, the Emirates. Their towers are all 200 floors long, 120 floors and 160 floors. I hope it will be in Los Angeles.

00:08 so weird looking at Oceanwide Plaza before it got graffitied. Even a year ago, when this video was posted, it was already abandoned.

Funny that it's been over a year and none of these have been started or approved yet

Was this a list of failed developments in downtown LA??

That picture of that downtown 13 story hotel doesn't exist in DTLA.The actual hotel is the Hilton DoubleTree Hotel. Also, that's not an overview of Pershing Square. I believe it's New York.

What's wrong with letting American construction companies build the proposed buildings?
@rolandc.morrissette8788 Жыл бұрын
Most of these proposals are dead. No financing, especially from China, since they have they're own problems. Onni (Canadian developer) is currently building a 760 ft residential tower next to the Mayan theatre. Mitsui Fudusan (Japanese) is remoured to be breaking ground on a new proposal end of 2024, which this vid doesn't even discuss. Meanwhile, the Oceanwide complex still sits incomplete, directly across from the (formerly Staples) Arena, an embarrassing eyesore. Still no buyers and will cost over a billion dollars to complete. The only tall one that might see the light of day is the Crescent Heights proposal, but I'm not holding my breath on that either. So, in essence, lots of speculative proposals, but no financing. The downtown skyline will not be much different than what it is currently for several years to come.

However, many buildings have still been constructed over the last 12 years. Before Covid hit, I counted 34 construction cranes just in DTLA alone. Covid put a brake on many of these projects, but they're slowly moving forward now.

You were predicting the future calling Oceanwide Plaza an eyesore - now more than ever.

Nice pessimistic view. You should channel that same energy into helping Los Angeles clean up its homeless population and addressing the feces covering the streets.

Most of those proposed buildings have extremely boring, uninspiring architecture
