This is a time lapse video (one frame per second) of installation of the main sewer line in front of out house on Thursday April 11. It's fascinating to watch in real time but I thought this might be interesting for others to see.

A well oiled machine prided on its efficiency. As a soil technician and a former pipelayer’s apprentice/journeyman, ive seen all different types of crews, some of them look like circus acts!

Thanks, Jeff! What a great idea to document this monumental event. It was amazing to watch it all unfold - looks so easy, yet we all know the years of planning and engineering that went into this project. Hats off to the crew!

Great job Jeff! They are in front of our house now and, I agree, they are a terrific crew. My grandsons were enthralled watching the activity! The 5-yr old took gatorade out to one of the workers. :-) They will be done today at 4. Looking forward to the lateral connection in a few months. Let's get this thing done! :-)

Very nicely done! I liked your comments, explaining what was going on. I agree, "like a well-choreographed ballet!" Also, your choice of music made it even more fun to watch. Thank you!

Thanks for this video. We live on Highland and agree with you on the similarity to choreographed group motion and the efficiency and professionalism demonstrated by the workers..

Nice video! So far I have noticed these guys are very conscious of the effect they have on the community as they work. It looks like they got the right company for the job.

Awesome! I'm amazed at how the streets are ripped up and by 5:00 you would never know what went on, quiet little street again

That’s WA Rasic they’re a union shop in SoCal. Definition looks like a fine tuned machine. I have been at a lot of companies that wish they were this buttoned up. Would love to work at a company this well ran.

Can believe they still lay pvc pipes in the us. Here in sweden we stopped about 25 years ago. 1 crack in a pvc can stretch a whole pipelength.

Only reason I can think they use pvc is it's cheaper, but not in the long run

Got to get these guys down here in L.A.. Took DWP over a year to replace a sewer of about the same length. Granted, it was like a 20" line, but still...

Well LA is a whole other animal to work in.

Too cool. Did they find Hoffa while they were down there?
