Two-Stroke Tohatsu is great motors. my 9.9 bhp is 15 years old. I use it every day for work and fishing. It simply wont die, I know because I tried so that I could get a 4-stroke. But at this point I have given up, and realized that the motor will probably outlive me. However when it comes to finding parts (not that you would ever need one for a Tohatsu) Yamaha is world wide the most common Outboard. This is not advice for R & E because they obviously know this by now. But friendly advice/help for rookie sailors thinking about getting an Outboard. Great videos by the way! You guys are awesome!

Seafood cooked in lemon/lime is absolutely incredible. A chef I used to work with in NZ showed me it once and I was blown away. You can make the "marinade mix" in bulk and keep in the fridge until needed, taking small amounts when you have a particular fish (or try octopus if you can find some) as the acidity of the juices acts like a preservative.

Hi Guys, Happy new year.. we liked the vid, and are glad you decided to go even though your research said it was going to be expensive, as it turned out to be the opposite. We had been advised to buy a 4 stroke motor, but you made an interesting point about the varying qualities of fuel from place to place. So even though a 2 stroke uses more fuel, do you think it is the best option for cruisers? We are looking forward to your Pacific crossing vids, should be all downhill sailing.. Thanks for sharing your journey with us, cheers from Down Under, Russell & Malene..

Good Job Guys! You've just had Probably the BEST shot of you're Whole Series, that one with the Starfield and clouds. As for the outboard; well they do have these new inventions for when motors go bolloxed, they're called OARS. You guys are too much. We ALL want to be you! Can't believe you stopped to free dive, way cool. I would have guessed the upwelling would have attracted some pelagics circling around. Great videos. Here is a tip for you. Hewn you are hanging on the road off the back of the boat. put a loop in the end and put your foot in it and lay back on the rope. You can lay there forever without holding on. Kind of like surfing, planing on the water. I do it all the time sailing here on Lake Huron, ontario , Canada.
