Having lived in ipswich for many years I can tell you the smell of that workshop on a sunny summer day when they open the doors up is amazing. I got to go aboard a spirit yacht when I spent a lot of time in the marina while searching for boats and admiring them every day. The craftsmanship is absolutely amazing down to the smallest detail. So happy you enjoyed the work of art.

Wooden boats, particularly something of this caliber, are a whole different kind of sailing. Seeing Elayna's visceral reaction to the smell of the wood and the tactile nature of the interior said it all. I could definitely see you all on a wooden boat in another decade or so, when you're done with the trimaran and have a little more salt in your hair. So glad you got to sail this one.

@@holgerlafrenz2895It makes sense to me. They're both cool! The wood boats have a charm for sure. But the blazing speed of their new trimaran is going to be very entertaining.

@@holgerlafrenz2895 Carbon is the basic building block of all life on this planet. Wood is carbon fibers glued together with Lignin produced from the sunlight, water and CO2 that the tree uses to grow. It doesn't get more natural than carbon. Every time you exhale, you produce carbon, and when you are finally cremated, all that will be left is carbon and some calcium. Don't let the communists fool you into believing any different. They are merely trying to stampede humanity into destroying itself so that they can take over.

Started watching you guys shortly after Lenny was born. I have a little boy Lenny’s age and watching your content helped pull me from my PPD. You showed me that motherhood doesn’t always have to look traditional and you’ve opened my eyes to different lifestyles and it’s honestly super impressive what you guys have accomplished over the years. Looking forward to your new trimaran and the subsequent adventures. 😊

Wow that's a beautiful yacht. All wood. The workman and workwomanshipon this boat is I am so speechless. This is a piece of ART indeed. And the speed she has over the water is way faster than a fiber glass or steel haul boat for sure. The thing I also noticed is the cockpit. As the main mast is so low you'll not be able to have a closed protected cockpit. I also notice when you jived to port or starboard people near mast head to duck their heads. So the safety of this boat if you are not experienced with it may create problems. Beautiful she is, but I think there is a safety design flaw. Looking forward to next video

No kidding - I saw the thumbnail before the title and thought, "Dang, Riley could be the next James Bond!" Smooth, Riley, smooth. And the boat - WOW!!! Gorgeous! Elayna, you have certainly become accomplished sailors and should be very proud! I'm sure there are not too many people these folks would allow to sail on these boats with them if not. It's been fun watching you grow, and I think about all that your kids have learned by watching, listening and participating on your boat. They're going to be naturals.

Reminds me of sailing on my grandpa's wood boat. I think first time I was a couple of weeks old. It was only 23 feet but the smells of the teak, the many times polished brightwork, even the bilge smell, all still bring back memories that are to me the essence of sailing. (It didn't hurt that it was in Hawaii...). I wish I knew what happened to her.

This has been my only experience on a sailboat - my ex boyfriend's parents had one, and we went out on it one day out from Drake's Island Maine. They showed me the ripples on the water, and explained how that was a wing gust and to get ready.. It hit, and the boat tilted so far! All I could hear was me taking a huge deep gasp of air! It was terrifying and thrilling all at the same time. I never forgot it!

The poms are exceptional in timber craftmanship. I lived and worked in the Midlands of UK for 5 years from 1980 in construction. Although our family are all Australian, mum and dad continued to live in the UK after I returned to Australia. I returned for a trip to England in 1994 and with dad also continuing his trade as a carpenter, he took us all to a shop in Bakewell, Derbyshire (home of the Bakewell Tarts) that sold only carpenters hand tools... Never seen any shop like it anywhere else in the world..... Dad passed 3 weeks ago just shy of his 89th birthday. I think dad was excited to be in this shop just as much as me......Must be a tradie thing.

The sailing community, the real sailing community, is a place filled with extraordinary, generous, people joined together by their common passion. Never doubt that you deserve your place at the table, you’ve lived it, suffered it, learned, cried, laughed and rejoiced in it. Above all, you’ve respected it and in return you have respect from it. It’s the biggest, most multi-skilled, most pro-active, most caring family you could ever wish to have around you. Congratulations!! It’s finally sinking in.😂 Thanks so much for featuring Spirit Yachts and for really nailing their ethos. They have built some of the most beautiful boats of the modern era and deserve so much more recognition on the world stage. Here’s to your next decade afloat. Cheers, R. 😎👍🍻
