i have a friend who does towing and impound and the way he runs his yard is that if your vehicle isnt claimed in 90 he goes through the process to take ownership of the vehicle and then he sells them as used cars.

As far as an impounded vehicle goes, depending on the State laws, the vehicle will become property of the Department or state usually after a month, and auctioned off as is where is with no guarantee. The department will give you a bill of sale which will allow you to get a title.

triple a (AAA) is primarily for roadside assistance, not taking vehicles to impounds and stuff.

usually with impounded and abandoned vehicles they will hold it for a defined period of time depending on the situation. they will contact the registered owner and if the time is up and it is not claimed and or paid for. it is sent either to the scrap yard or auctioned off.

I work for a tow company...any unclaimed vehicle gets auctioned off usually after a few months.... we have an auction every month....most of our cars that don't get claimed are from accidents and gets auctioned to scrap yards...but sometimes we do have private and law enforcement impounds that don't get claimed and get auctioned to the highest bidder

they would usually use a semi tow truck and if the traffic is bad they will send a couple of police units to help with the traffic

Ravie Persaud my dad did towing for 20 something years in Florida and what they did if a car sat in the impound for to long it would go up for auction and the only way it would go to the junkyard is if it was involved in a wreck.

I Minnesota after 30 day the vehicles become the property of the towing company and they can do whatever they want to do with it. most sell it or junk it.

yes towing companies are reliable for any damage done from getting it towed unless its been in an accident and you have to bend back or break the damaged part to get hooked up.... I had a sheriff call to recover a stolen motorcycle someone dumped down an embankment....I told the sheriff that I can get it back up but cant say it wont damage it anymore then it is brining it up... he shrugged his shoulders and said as long as you get it up here in any condition....that's all that matters

If the car is auctioned off, the insurance and registration gets suspended and the owner may no longer be near the video. In order to pick up a impounded vehicle, you must pay off all tickets and update any car insurance or registration
