The Banshee Cup Playoffs are finally upon us! The Heroes of the Storm competition moves into the next phase with the Top 8 teams being split into two groups of four! The two best teams out of each group will qualify for the final phase of the tournament!
The Banshee Cup is a Heroes of the Storm tournament with $2500 prizemoney! The first stage of the tournament consists of 6 Double-Elimination Qualifiers where the participating teams can gather points to qualify for the playoffs of the Heroes of the Storm event. Thank you for these, Khaldor, and for helping so much to keep HotS alive! I've thought about this kind of tournament a lot. I think the Team Theme based Bounties should be 4/5. Otherwise, the easiest one to go for is Overwatch, surprisingly, which is boring af. (D. va, Mei/Zarya, Ana/Lucio, Tracer/Genji/Junkrat/Hanzo) - but if for like a Protoss only team, you got a very strict comp. Artanis, Alarak, Probius, Fenix, Tass, Zeratul, and what, Raynor? - Maybe if it's SC, Terrans are Neutral and Zerg/Protoss Teams can both use Morales or Tychus, etc. (It would be up to the organizers though if Stukov counted or not) - then for Warcraft, well there's at least more options.. but not any really great comps. But if it's 4/5 then I think teams would be a LOT more willing to try. Could even be stricter to an extent with 4/5, for instance having a WC Dragon Bounty, w/ Brightwing, Deathwing, Alex, and Chromie. Warchiefs Bounty worth more than the standard Horde/Ally bounty with Thrall, Sylv, Garrosh, and E.T.C., (Maybe allowing Malf and Varian in that category as well? Same thing as with Stukov) and the 5th place is just open to allow for the comps to work and allowing for some real creativity instead of strict 5/5 specific comps. As for Diablo, the only comp I can really even think up is All Angels. Tyrael, Imperius, Auriel, Malth.. maybe Angels/Demons comp, allowing the Angels and Dia, Meph, and Azmo to comprise 4. Just some thoughts I've had about this style of tournament for a long time.

As someone with more than 100 levels on abathur and as someone who used monty almost exclusively back when monty got the attack speed bonus as well: Yasus abathur plays are so damn triggering... - Kept forgetting he had the ult, every second monty not on field is wasted (unless there is no reasonable lane for it but there was) - Rather hats the minion next to monty (I think I saw that happen twice and it makes zero sense, could move monty back and help kill the wave quicker with one hat cast). - Fully stacked monty destroys keep and he still refuses to burrow it back to well. (Monty can't take on the core alone so the job on that lane was done) - And as you said had he used monty at the bot keep, it would have been destroyed much earlier.... he must be doing that on purpose to trigger viewers...or he doesn't really know about burrow and that re pressing R automatically hats the monty and kept misclicking trying to hat in minion wave...

Why not have certain tiers for the bounties? Like all Diablo team is only $50 but winning with Valeera/Nova/Murky is like $250 or something?

That could be a fun entire tournament based on bounties. Like you score points for completing them, plus allowed to score multiple in one game. Also, there could be in-game achievements that give points like win without taking an obj more than once etc. And like top 3 teams point-wise share the prize money. The thing is in this format the handicap of going for a bounty doesn’t conflict with the fact you must win to move further, but is a whole goal itself.
