Hi all. Had the chance to test out this Losi Lasernut the other day. This belongs to my friend Simon who kindly (foolishly) let me get my hands on the controls. Was it any good? You'll have to watch to find out! This is just a quick review as it's only based on running a couple of packs through this. Thanks everso much for watching. Please like and comment so the KZbin gods think that I'm a good person :-)

Definetly not worth buying. This thing is way to heavy for its drivetrain-components. It's killing bearings and differentials left and right. For its size and weight it needs proper 1:8th scale components.

Hi there. Yeah I'm hearing various reports of issues with this. I think that maybe my friend should run this on 3s to maybe make it last longer. Many thanks indeed for your helpful feedback. Much appreciated 👍

Have seem quite a number say the Lazernut suffers with diff & drivetrain problems/failures. Due to the larger & heavier tyres on the Lazernut, the DB Pro with its smaller & lighter wheels dont seem to suffer these issues. Both basically the same platforms but with longer wheelbase & different wheels on the Lazernut.

Hi there. Yeah I've been hearing about the problems with the diffs and drivetrain on this. Might be best to run this on 3s to reduce the strain. Be good if they made some upgraded parts for it. Many thanks indeed for your great feedback. Much appreciated 😁👍

Yeah I think that the general view is that the big wheels on this one puts too much strain on the drivetrain so the DB Pro is the better option. Thanks for watching 🙂

Hi Pete. Top review dude. It's very cool looking buggy but way out of my price range at the moment and with the possible reliability issues I'm afraid it would be way down on my list. Having said that it does look fantastic flying through the air with the greatest of ease. Excellent stuff as always mate merry Christmas and all that stuff.

Hi there Rob. I think my mate only paid about £400 for it so not too bad for something like that. The diff issues would be a bit of a worry. Cheers for watching mate. I'm sure I'll see you in the comments again before Xmas but if not then have a great one and very best wishes for the new year 😁

@@PeteWylieRC they should reduce the amount of tork of the motor xD 🤣 its too insane that much kilowatts... If u swap motor program the esc to be more gentle on acceleration... (The stock power manager on the stock tx is kinda shit. It limit power but also speed... It's shitty. Just want power reduced and allow more time for the car to accelerate at full throttle...

Yeah ok I was trying launch control on the hig grip pavement we have near pedestrian... But shit that was a tatu 4s 800mah! It's like my 125mm drone battery have enough power to kill part on a 4kilo rc car XD hopefully that was not a 5000mah 100c xD the car would explode in piece otherwise xD 🤣

its a really nice car but it have weak point... personaly i killed the box of the rear diff doing only 3 launch on 4s... 3s fine but stock no mod the rear diff case is shit>?? (4s really power full more than losi mini8 ) but yeah... thread of the plastic isnt enough... so tread of the diff case stripped and now he open like shit on 2s.. so gling gling 12 buck part for losi... u can go around by using some m3(4?)*75mm to go allway down the diff an thight it with nut (saw someone doing this and no more probleme.. he leave his tire on the road at full power and car is fine (i say fine but we all know dogbone and diff exit where arm shaft fit will clearly not like it... )

Hi Pete, the car looks great in the video! Yeah it is a fragile rig, but I love the way it drives so had to get one. I think it will have to be a fair weather RC as it took me ages to clean it after this slightly soggy outing!

Yeah it looks great in the sunshine but it was soggy underfoot as you say. You need a couple of RC's that you don't mind putting away dirty for the winter season. I don't think I cleaned any of mine after that day 🤣 Hopefully the weather will be kind and we can get out again before too long 🙂

Hi there Pete, another great video review! I appreciate the difficulty in filming, driving and walking, especially on uneven ground, safety first, no going A over T 😂😂😂. The Losi Lasernut has that shim issue I believe, I remember BigPoppaPaul having an issue with the spur gear and shimming in general, he made me laugh, with what he called his Losi Lasenut 😊😊 anyway, again a great video, enjoyed every second. Take care and best wishes to you all 😉😊😉

Hiya John. You know I'm still seeing JK-RC and taking a few seconds to remember that it's you! Anyway yes people are talking about some issues with this but my friend got a good deal on this so he's happy for now. Getting down that hill was definitely more of a challenge for me than the car! Anyway we had a fun time with this and will see how it goes on future runs. Cheers for watching and your great comments as ever mate. Hope all is well with you and yours 😁👍

Hi Pete, great little review, matey! As you say, it's a beautiful little buggy and looks well made, sounds like there are some reliability issues though judging from your pinned comment. Shame because it does look a ton of fun, in most of the footage it was on 2 wheels!!! It'd be interesting to see some slomo of it speeding across some rocky terrain if you ever get the chance in the future. Anyway, expertly filmed, edited and narrated as always. Top job. Hope your week is going well mate! :))

Hiya matey. Yeah I'll have to find out if that centre diff has been an issue. I have to say that I'm not 100% sure why you need a centre diff as loads of RC's get away without one. You know I did nearly hold onto this footage until we'd been somewhere more rocky and lumpy but I had no idea when that would be so maybe a follow up vid. Yes it was fun to try and catch it before it rolled over in the bends. Cheers for your great feedback as ever mate. The week is fine and dandy so far apart from the general unpleasantness of getting up for work on these dark mornings! Hope all is well with you and yours 😁

@@PeteWylieRC of course you need a diff if you're going to even do slight jumps with it. It doesn't have a Slipper clutch, so when you lock up the center diff you're going to put tremendous stress on the front and rear diffs. They are already under a lot of strain due to the heavy weight of the car itself, undersized ring and pinion and undersized bearings. Locking the center diff up is only going to make it worse. Only very light vehicles in general, cars with balldiffs front and rear or touring cars have a spool. Everything that's going to be jumped needs at least a Slipper or a diff. Even better would be both at the same time like the hpi savage has the option to do so.
@PeteWylieRC

@@AsurasWrath164 oh I didn't realise that this doesn't have a slipper. I was just thinking that my Arrma trucks and my Axial Yeti don't have a centre diff and they are a similar size but then they do have slippers. Thanks for the info 👍

Hiya Damian. Yeah maybe but I'll leave that up to Simon who owns it. Not sure if he's done any mods since that day. Yeah it was something a bit different. It's a bit like my Yeti but that does fall over a bit more often with the solid back axle and super soft tyres. Cheers for your comments mate. Hope you are ok.

I have a Super Baja and a "normal" Baja 1/10 since less than one year: tyres are crap, replaced two of each car, the Super destroyed one of the new tyres during the first run (paid 100$ + shipment, the esc of the 1/10 burned, the screws are crap, the servo of the 1/10 is crap. No, never ever a Losi anymore in my life.
