Hey guys! I put the Losi LMT and the Axial Smt10 head to head and only one came out alive...lol. 😃 Which truck do you guys like better? 👇

Nice run for sure. I am a fellow Canuck so feel the pain of high prices. The LMT is out of my range. I got the SMT10 and here is what I have done to it so far. Upgraded to a Firma ESC 80 amp with a 4000KV brushless motor. Reasonable upgrade using stock gearing without it being crazy. I run it on 2S. Lots of speed and power for me. I put in stainless steel axle tubes and Duratrax Munition wheels and tires. Love those. Bigger and softer than stock. Gives the truck a bit more speed and the tires really soak up landings well. I also treated the inside of the body with drywall tape and Goop to give it more strength. I built a backflip ramp based on Tony's design from CCXRC. It is awesome. Amazing backflips and so far no broken axels or anything. It is a great truck and very durable. Thanks for your great content.

Great job on the comparison. Both cars look pristine. I just picked up the Son of a Grave Digger and on my first bash I destroyed one shock, completely ground off the bead-locks off the rims. I pulled the body off before I ran the truck so it's still in perfect shape. The LMT is so nice looking it hurts when you damage stuff. My thought is just enjoy it and forget trying to preserve it's beauty. I think 31 mph is plenty of speed. You got some great action with minimal damage. I don't think I'll bash mine again. Running on the grass is much safer and still demonstrates it's coolness.

I have the same motor as you but a different esc and my motor gets super hot after less than 10 mins of running. Any idea what it could be?

In comparisons, they seem to push the LMT with beefier axles, but they seem to break easier.

Without any kind of fix for the V1 stock axles you have to drive it gently. I still havent got my V2 axles on but should be soon.

I have the SMT version1. When I got it it said I could use 2s or 3s and I burnt the stock motor. I had an old Traxxas 14v motor that I put in it. I put all metal gears in the transmission and I run it on 3s. I had some old cloud buster tires that I mounted on some proline wheels. This thing is fast. When the weather gets better I'll put my GNSS on it and see how fast. I have jumped, smashed and crashed and still nothing had broken. I like my Axial SMT10 GRAVEDIGGER. Great video it also showed the flaws of both trucks.

Thanks brother! 👊😃🍺🍺Yeah I love them both! You can't jump them 25Ft in the air like a Traxxas or Arrma but they have a cool unique way that they handle. Plus I just love the realism. Hopefully I can make the Losi tougher with the V2 version Losi plastic axles. I'm not buying Treals. If the same company that makes cast steel SMT10 axles comes out with ones for the Losi that would be cool. Heavy...but at least they won't break. I got SMT10 steel axles for $20 a piece...lol. But so far it's looking like I may not need them.

the smt looks to much like one of the toy grade trucks for me. I prefer my lmt, had it for six months and still have the original axles and I jump it higher

Yes they are both amazing solid axle trucks! It's strange but I like the SMT10 just a tiny touch better. If the axles on the LMT didn't snap so easily I would probably think differently. But I also like the chassis on the SMT and I like the light weight. It's quick to just charge up the small 3s battery and easy to carry the SMT10 around. I'm glad I have both in my stable though. 😃

I prefer the SMT 10 it has a better rep for not breakin parts..... As for the LMT.... man has there been a lot of broken LMT's out there with the old and newer axles on them both.... I will stick with my SMT

So far I'm feeling the love for the SMT as well. The light weight and the axle design just makes it more durable and able to be thrown around. Well...I will test the new Losi axles and make a new vid and see if my opinion changes. I still love the truck though...I'd just hate to have to drop all that cash on Treal axles.

@@KaizerTest Agreed I would switch em out for a set of the SMT axles.. Will take a bit of moddin to get them to work right but cheaper then going to fullon Treal axles... For half the price of those you can get the SMT axles and the aluminum trusses for them too... Just a thought....

@@fruitycoconut My V2 axles are still in the mail...lol. Should be here in a few days. If you have totally stock axles dont do any back flips unless you reinforce them with epoxy or shoe goo. I think jumps on flat ground like grass are ok but the stock V1 axles are terrible. When I get the v2 axles I think I'm going to epoxy them inside as well for extra insurance. If you are handy you can take your axles apart now and just scuff them up with sandpaper and wash them. Then epoxy or shoe goo inside. Even without the carbon fiber the epoxy should help them.

so uhh, if you want to turn the smt10 into a comp truck integy makes a rear steer kit. Also the front steering links will get a lot of slop and it sucks. Gpm makes some good ones

I like both but so far I have been enjoying the axial more. My Losi is still broken waiting to be fixed.

You can see I jumped the axial and did many backflips and the axles didn't break. They will break though but for $20 you can get metal, aluminum or brass axle inserts and they will be very strong. Even with a brushless 5900kv motor everything seems to be holding up for now.

Thanks bro! Yes the LMT is pretty amazing when its not broken...🤣 The SMT feels a little more toy like because its lighter but that light weight saves it from breaking.

I know...I'm in Canada too. It's a lot of money for something that you would expect to be tougher out of the box. The good thing is if you break one Losi will send you 2 of the new ones. All they ask for is a picture and proof of purchase. No questions asked other than that. So that is good. You will snap them for sure if you haven't yet. I have literally 30 minutes on my truck. 15 min and a snap for the front...fixed it and then 15 minutes and the rear is snapped...lol.

@@joshl1984 You can see in my unboxing vid I was jumping it and landing on snow. I had one landing on the road and the front snapped. Not even a bad landing really...nearly flat. But it was very cold out so brittle plastic. The rear snapped on my 3rd or 4th backflip off a tree in this video...lol. My SMT10 just kept backflipping with no issues.

Yeah me too. I had a song in the background playing very lightly while I was talking and you could hear the truck sounds. But after months I got a song copyright strike so my only option was to swap the music out and I lost all the talking and truck sounds in the process.
