Very good point. I'm so glad you brought out the point that this is simply a part of doing business. You will NOT win on every product so the goal is to win more than you lose. People need to know this before they get into ANY business. I appreciate your content. Thanks!

I rarely have a loss on AMZ inventory, but I do have losses on Poshmark. Because? -- their postage and tax has to be paid by the customers and then you have customers who low-ball the offers. I've been a sucker for taking offers because I want to move inventory. So it's a habit I have to stop and just learn to wait. However, w/ AMZ I'm FBM and usually have a one-off product, not bulk items. Also another factor is styles change and products are improved on. I have bought some discontinued electronics, and they sit for a while, but eventually it moves. My experience w/ getting ungated is that AMZ wants a minimum quantity of 10 items of one product.

I’m new in RA, but what do you think about keeping the original receipts of every product I invest in? If/when I get a return, and it’s unfillable, I can return it back to the brick and mortar for my money back if I can’t sell it on Amazon or eBay. Only loss would be the loss for having it shipped back (which is like, 50 cents per item), right?

I'm not a fan of borrowing items from stores or using them as a type of credit. I do keep my receipts though. Just dont return stuff.

Another reason inventory stalls or is taken as a loss is YTers BLOWING UP products and by way of that, flooding the market. Drives me NUTS!

That's one reason why we try to only ever share something that is hard to find, and not something that would be considered a replenishable.

How long should I let it sit before I drop prices ?
@TheSellingFamily

+c. Bran I would not let it sit longer than 45 days. During that time monitor the price and see if it rebounds.
