Alan, do you play the bass guitar? Mandolin is the bass turned up side down. The chords are basically root note and third and then octave. Learning the bass will help your mandolin playing. Bass: E A D G from thick to thin strings. Mandolin: G D A E.

This is close to perfection. And I have no idea why so many people have posted less accurate and less detailed versions when this one already existed. So many miss that ace rhythm on the Dm, or the fact that the last riff of the bridge is different. Lovely job xx

when playing mando you treat the two strings (courses) as one - so essentially a 4 string instrument with 8 strings.

Excellent video! Is there any way you could tell the strum pattern? I've watched the video many times, but can't quite figure it out.
@tonedr3 жыл бұрын
hello thanks for checking this out...I don't mean to be hard to get a long with but I really don't think patterns when it comes to strumming. I know a lot of teachers demo that way - I think it's better to 'lock in' to the beat and timing of the song and play with feel not machine like. Start with maybe just down strokes on every beat, changer that to up-down strokes and then add to it.
