This song has a lot of political layers to it that you should definitely look into. BTS were almost blacklisted by the government of that time because of this song.

@MiekoNeko because bts called out government officials in this song especially Suga's verse. it was when the former president was still in power and any artist who spoke ill of the government or its decisions were blacklisted. Just last week my daughter played this for me and I about flipped out. I told her it had a southern vibe and was wondering how they got that sound. Now seeing from comments that it almost got them blacklisted can't wait to read about it. There's so many layers to BTS I'm not surprised to read about this being controversial. I love that BTS has never been afraid to call out things and convey deeper messages in their music. I mean literally their debut era is all about how it's okay to not have a dream yet, calling out how school sometimes feels monotonous and like you're being controlled and navigating teenage/young adult feelings like love, angst etc. This song and dance are so slept on and I'm glad y'all are finally watching it! It's one of me and my nephew's favorites! 💜💜 Also I hope you guys checked out the full choreography because the second verse was cut from this performance!

He is a singer, guitarist, and songwriter, living in Nashville, Tennessee. I can't tell you how long it's been since I've fanned out to fave performers whose bodies are in touch with their music since MJ, Janet Jackson, Paula Abdul, MC Hammer, etc. Not only are their live vocals insane, their choreography is so deeply on point, but my guy Jimin... It never ceases to amaze me how so many of their sociopolitical songs are still relevant today. It's kinda sad, actually, how their messages in these type of songs never lost relevance even after all these years; some of their initial references in the songs may have been addressed, but new events take place and the songs become applicable to those events too (especially today).
