Saving The West

Күн бұрын

Written, directed and co-produced by Alex Warren, “Losing the West” is a documentary about the protection of open space and agricultural lands, as told through eyes of Coloradan Howard Linscott-a gruff, chain-smoking 70-year-old native american cowboy.

I really enjoyed this beautifully depicted and compelling documentary set to the back drop of my favourite place in the world (Colorado)🌄 What a legendary man. I have always ridden horses but since I began travelling to the Mid-Western States in 2018, my perception of my own country (England) has changed forever. The ranching lifestyle, big skies, magnificent mountains and vast expanses of untamed wilderness is something that, sadly can not be replicated and does not exist here (and is an iconic symbol of the American West) which, has ignited a very deep passion in my heart for the States. I know that, ranching is gradually changing but I really hope it continues to be a legacy and tradition of the great wild west and although, this lifestyle is one of persistent dedication, endurance, dogged determination and extremely hard physical work, it is the kind of work that, leaves a person's heart and spirit truly contented and fulfilled🐎❤️🐎

I have known a few tough old boys in the saddle in my lifetime and they all taught the same thing by example; it's called discipline, they had lots of it.

Yuppies will be pushy. They ran out the big begonia nursery that had been there in Santa Cruz, complaining about the stacks of pots and lathhouses. They used to get begonias and fuscias for about a dollar each. Not any more. This is a great video. Thank you. I hope you keep on somewhere.

Hello there. It's already happened here. All the small village's are towns now and getting bigger. People come up from the south where the money is in the city. They buy up all the properties because they can afford it. It just ducks it up for the locals.

I feel for you guys! The hardest working people. Funny story about the cat "ike". I get that we need meat. ISO 9000 would be wise to heartily launch the reality of animal welfare in to the cost of meat over a worldwide agreement of standardized treatment of farm animals... where ALL meat industry producers have to wake up. And it's going to happen with proliferation of drone oversight. I don't want more government regulation. than the next guy. However, subsidies for animal welfare need to come to the fore (if) meat industry cannot self-regulate and come up clean on far better treatment of animals. The cost of meat shall go up, along with standards, employees wage, work conditions, and here come the subsidies to do it. I can afford to pay more for humanly raised meat. I've raised my own. But many cannot. This means in the next 20 years we get cultured lab grown meat (if) meat producers don't wake up. So go ahead and enjoy the last days of branding and castrating, kicking downers, and all the other atrocities inflicted upon your brethren animals. The halcyon days of extreme neglect in factory farming will be coming to an end by the time the wave of Millenniials have a thing to say about it.

You moved there...tough shit! Move out if you don’t like it! It’s high time the country people put politeness aside and not only said “no” but “hell no!” These city people are ruining the west! Montana, Idaho, Wyoming are the next to fall! That’s a historical site, should be named as such, and prohibit any new construction or change (aside from maintenance) to the livery stable! Damn the owner! AND every other CS’r that com0lained and pushed for the exit of this ‘legend’ and his friends!
