The Peter Avalon and Brandon Cutler story has been a beautiful piece of story telling. I'm a big fan of long and nuanced stories and is honestly why AEW was able to renew a love for wrestling that had faded in the last six or seven years.

I agree, that's legit why I watch AEW. Storytelling matters. Stories is what makes it interesting and makes the wrestling that much more impactful. Even better is stories that have a continuation and that they don't just end after one show like the old days in wwf, superstars started to beat the refs up. The week after, the refs all went on strike wanting compensation and assurances so for that week they had to have Shane mcmahon and other superstars be referees... now that shit is funny, good and awesome, it means something. It really is the little things that matter and AEW is able to do that on a regular basis

and here's another. there's a benefit to losing. you learn from your mistakes. failure is the greatest teacher. it makes you who you are. jane wiedlin of the go-go's said that success didn't really make her happy but it was through her own failures as a solo artist that actually made her the person that she is and became a happier, well-adjusted person. it's the work that matters, not what you do after it's finished. those are some damn good life lessons. i hate the idea of "history is written by the winners". that is bullshit. i feel like you learn more from those who lost as it tells you what they did wrong and learn not to make those mistakes.

For me Cutler vs MJF would be the ultimate feud for when MJF gets a title run. Imagine it: Cutler having been the family man, retired early years ago to raise his family with his wife, and then gets the opportunity to come back, but has the ultimate underdog story with his win/loss record. He represents the TRUE everyman that MJF absolutely hates. Clash of ideals: Brandon having nothing to lose because he can talk about the career he had after retirement and the opportunities he had to his kids and grandkids later, meanwhile MJF leads a shallow existence all about the title and money and he has no legacy to leave behind. So MJF has everything to lose in that scenario. The booking writes itself

The fact that they used Cutler to drive home the gimmick that wins and losses matter in their company is brilliant! Sure we see W-L records and always focus on those at the top but Cutler and Avalon tell the story of the bottom of the card fighting for survival. Well done. Also Dark Order and Latino's family fued is a combination of some of the best segments on BTE they deserved it. Also more Super Panda please
