I’m quite sad to hear from content creators that they are cutting back on what they love doing because of what Alvin Tan said. I think we cannot always be mothering people because the internet will still have lots of fraudsters who are not Singaporeans. Also even those with the qualifications may also be misleading people online for their personal gains. Pump and dump schemes are prevalent in US. I’m just super sian that our local content creators have their small little space taken away. No fun left. There will be so few ‘qualified’ local financial content creators. And these might even do other things to avoid running afoul with the law.

To be fair, there are some ethical brokers too. Years ago my fathers broker called up my father and advised him to sell a certain stock before it tanks further. My father refused the advice. Days later, he lost nearly the entire investment.
