I love how the writers made Sawyer&Juliet couple believable. Just in one episode they made their relationship work. The chemistry they have is almost as good as Desmond and Penny.

I was so glad to see this reaction! The responses brought me back to my own reaction when I first watched this episode. Also: You brought up a very good point about the island! It moves through time AND space. Who knows where/when it was when the statue was built? However, many cultures have stories of "lost" islands -- such as Atlantis, Mu, Avalon, Manu, Kamari Kandam, Phantom Island, Cantre'r Gwaelod, Buyan, etc. I suppose that it is possible that ancient Egyptians once arrived upon and inhabited the island for a period of time (at least long enough to build the statue).

Comentei tanto sobre esse episódio a primeira vez que o canal reagiu, é o meu favorito da temporada, pelo roteiro e o casal. Um detalhe que eu tinha esquecido que o Rodrigo apontou, o Sawyer não titubeou de pular no poço para resgatar o Locke. Realmente o Hurley treinou bem ele para ser um líder.

Ainda lembro quando passou o episódio do pé da estátua pela primeira vez na AXN. Os fóruns do orkut bombaram com teorias. E esses debates desvendando os enigmas eram tão bom quanto a própria série. A própria estátua descobrimos antes mesmo desse episódio, mas quando revelou de vez, fiquei tipo o meme do Leonardo DiCaprio e falando "EU SABIAAAA", e todo o desenrolar disso com a ligação que já tinhamos teorizado sobre Jacob, fertilidade e tudo mais, fez ainda mais sentido. Por isso tudo, junto com o próprio site criado pela série, que Lost revolucionou as séries de tv e é até hoje minha preferida. Obs: Juliet >>>>>>>> Kate. Sempre.

In France we learn English, of course, Spanish or German, but we can have option to Latin, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Arab, Italian and probably more, but English is compulsory like in a lot of country, then we have choice between Spanish and German, Spanish is easier ^^

Sawyer taking the leader position is a perfect mirror for what’s happened to Jack in the previous seasons. Sawyer is arguing with Miles and Juliet the same way Jack argued with Sawyer and Kate about everything. Not funny when everyone wants to go their own way, uh? I’m looking forward to the beginning of LaFleur winning strategies. Now that Sawyer became a complex character, even his supporters on the couch are beginning to doubt his actions! That’s what you get once you get involved. Oh, another trick by the writers. We saw the Jack-Sawyer-Kate triangle for 4 seasons, but the timespan of their relationship was 3 months, with some catastrophic events in the middle. Then Jack and Kate had to live with a lot of stress from their previous life, with the trial and everything. They were in the worst conditions to keep a stable relationship. Sawyer and Juliet had 3 years of peace, far from any other trouble (they could even come back to mainland, they chose to live there). Of course they would develop a much healthier relationship. Maybe they had bad times, but the audience can’t know about it, because those 3 years passed in 3 seconds of screen time. Coincidentally, Kate’s theme outside the island was dark and soft, to highlight the new problematic situation she was in. Back on the island, we are back to the “romantic tune” we heard at the end of the episode. In the post episode discussion Hugo talked about fertility and problems with pregnant women. One thing to notice, in this episode we see no problems. Maybe the thing that started the problems has yet to happen…

Yeah, those 3 years - and what happened to each one of them - had pivotal consequences in how they reacted to this new trip back to the island, and Sawyer's new life at Dharma. You can't expect them to be the same, it was too much that happened. Sawyer said himself "I did a lot of growing up in 3 years". So, it's no wonder their relationships (Jack/Kate/Sawyer/Juliet) got affected by that time that passed.

Ju is right, the flash that brought Jack, Kate and Hurley (and who knows who else) to 1977 can't be one of the flashes that everyone experienced. It should be a flash specific to those people. The only far-fetched theory that might suggest otherwise can be something like this, and bear with me, I'm making up this theory as it goes: Sawyer, Juliet, Locke's team experienced some quick, back to back flashes when they were around Orchid Station (the flashes that end up killing Charlotte) and we never had a clue which years they briefly visited. Let's say one of those flashes went to 2007 which is the year the Ajira 316 plane should be entering the Island area. So they briefly went to 2007 to the exact time the 316 plane coming to the island, they quickly flashed again but for some reason (let's say because they were still entering the island and still on the edge of the radius) and that flash took the airplane passengers (I mean Jack-Kate-etc) to 1977 but Sawyer's team to another year. Being in the edge of the island radius might effect that because we already know time is bending entering and exiting the island (Daniel's rocket thing, doctor's dead body arriving early, Sayid-Desmond's helicopter journey taking too long, etc) which means if they were still in the course of entering the island dome area, the effects of the flashes might be skewed for them, so the flashes might send them to a different year compared to people in the middle of the island. I repeat, this is just a mad but plausible theory that explains where the hell the flash in the airplane might have come from. It could be easily argued they experienced the flash just for entering the island dome and the island sent them to whatever year they should be. It's easier and it's probably the logic the writers went for but I just tried to give it a fitting sci-fi based explanation, cause it's fun.. By the way; Sawyer and Kate knew each other only for just 3,5 months (or so) when Kate leaved the island. Sawyer and Juliet now have a 3 year off-screen history together. That puts some things in different perspective.

You know, even though there are many loose ends in Lost - and some of them make some of the best discussions - I love that the writers left us enough elements to create plausible theories. Like the one you just described. Meaning, there's the island's radius, the time travels, the wheel, the island's powers, destiny, freewill, etc. I know you've said you wish some of those loose ends weren't that loose (correct me if I'm wrong), but connecting those dots is definetely one of my favorite things in Lost.

Yeah, I'm totally down with Juliette and Sawyer. They did a pretty damn good job of making us care about that in a very short amount of screen time too. And you are correct, the flash when John turned the wheel, and Sawyer and Juliette and Jin and Miles said, that was different, it's over. That's a different flash from what Jack and Hurley and Kate etc., experienced on flight 316.

Então, essa estátua e o colar do marido da Amy são as referências mais explícitas que já apareceram sobre deuses da morte e vida. A estátua é de Anúbis, deus egípcio da morte e a cruz do marido da Amy é o Ankh, símbolo egípcio da vida. Mas tem outras referências, inclusive cristãs. O sonho do Charlie na segunda temporada, com a Claire e uma Santa Maria, que deu a vida a Jesus e também representa a Santa Mãe.

Sawyer changed after he killed the real Sawyer, Locke’s Dad. Remember how he suggested he and Kate settle down when they were staying in the Dharma barracks? Well, obviously he was ready for a real relationship which he got by settling down with Juliet. He became a different person, LaFleur.

Um dos melhores ep de todos os tempos. Arco Sawyer - do cara mais fdp que so pensava em si e em vingança, para uma pessoa que pularia no poço para salvar o john e que acreditou que ele ia voltar e esperou por 3 anos ele voltar com o pessoal. Arco Juliet - de membro dos outros para ajudante dos sobreviventes. Ficou 3 anos presa com o Ben e depois passou 3 anos feliz com o Sawyer. 1 Ep entrega um casal que ninguém pediu e todos aceitaram e compraram, Ódio da Kate cresce. Por isso que falo o Sawyer foi o personagem masculino com maior crescimento e a Juliet a personagem feminina com maior crescimento. digo do ponto inicial ao final da serie. Esse ep é muito bom.

Agora que chegamos nesse episódio, posso dar minha opinião impopular sobre os casais da série Como comentei aqui meses atrás, eu sempre tive uma opinião impopular sobre o triângulo (ou quarteto) amoroso Jack, Kate, Sawyer e Juliet E depois de ver e rever a série nos últimos 3 anos (já que a primeira vez foi em 2020) Sinceramente, gosto do casal Jack/Juliet Mas o ideal pra mim que teria toda a simpatia dos fãs assim como o casal Des e Penny seria: Jack e Juliet / Sawyer e Kate Primeiramente pela construção de casal de ambos Ainda que Jack e Kate passem muito tempo juntos, pouco se vê dado o contexto que estão inseridos E Sawyer e Juliet, acontece muito rápido, a gente somente vê eles se aproximando e já juntos Mas os momentos dos dois não acontece e nem aparece em flashbacks (o que me faz shippar bem menos do deveria, por gostar dos dois personagens) Por outro lado, Kate e Sawyer tem química de casal, mesmo que estranhamente, eles são muito a vibe um do outro kkkkkjk Fora coisas me comum, como a vida problemática de crimes dos dois Além deles terem seus momentos, como lá nas jaulas na 3° temporada E mesmo que Kate e Jack tenham se casado, nada me tira da cabeça que ela jamais teria escolhido o Jack se o Sawyer tivesse saído da ilha também kkkkkjk Como diz o próprio Sawyer: "Já já você vai arrumar uma discussão com Jack e vai voltar correndo pra mim" E concordo bastante com essa afirmação E tem claro, a insegurança do Jack com ela por conta da Sarah ter traído ele E apesar de eu amar a frase da Kate: "Diz que eu vou te ver denovo" lá em sabemos onde, eu não sou nenhum um pouco fã desse casal kkkkkj E é uma das minhas criticas a Lost Já o casal Jack/Juliet, já começa do posto Jack ter comprado a briga da Juliet com os outros e o próprio Ben (que como sabemos, era louco na Juliet) E a frase dele sobre o Ben pra ela: "Ele sabe onde me encontrar" era o momento perfeito pra colocar de vez esse casal pra acontecer Fora que ela poderia ajudar o Jack na sua maturação de um cara cético pra um cara de fé Afinal, ela pôs vida onde não havia com as experiências científicas dela e com o trauma anterior dos seus relacionamentos (Ela com o marido maluco e ele com a Sarah) Ainda que eu acredite na máxima de "os opostos se atraem" hahahah Resumindo, faria todo sentido E acho que o público teria bem mais simpatia com o quarteto amoroso, mas... Sobre o episódio em si, GOSTO DEMAIS A gente entende mais do passado deles no decorrer dos 3 anos que passaram lá E de como eles estão no momento E o melhor é eles presos na época da Dharma kkkkkj O diálogo do Sawyer com o Richard é muito bom kkkj a cara do Richard é impagável 🤣 Desculpa pelo texto KKKKKJ
