It does look pretty poor - but in fairness, he's pretty ignorant mechanically... I just think he never thought he could ask for an empty oil bottle to put this in. I dont think this would happen again. He's very brave in that he shows what he doesnt know to the whole world. And overall...hopefully, he's making it a better place

I see 3 mistakes done during the oil change: - As many already said, the used oil shouldn't have been discarded that way. Collecting it in a container, which would have been dropped at the nearest petrol station, would have been much better for the environment. Anyway I'm sure the lesson has been learnt by now 🙂 - The dirt around the oil fill cap should have been washed away prior to pouring the fresh new oil in; I'm afraid that some dirt may have get into the engine/clutch/gearbox. Not good 🙂 - Oil specification. I believe Honda recommends 10W-30 for the Monkey. I guess 10W-40 oil weight is still fine, just a bit thicker at hot temperatures. However you seem to have bought car engine oil (cars, like Harley Davidsons, use separate oils for engine and transmission; Monkeys don't) and this may become an issue with the Monkey's wet clutch.

Next oil change. Just use a plastic bag then dispose of it in a bin. The necks of them bottles squeeze together enough to make it easy to poor into the fill hole. Done a oil change myself in the road trip I had.. Dont forget to spanner check everything next stop. As advised by Cole

I’m a mechanic and I know for a fact there are requirements for correct disposal of oils. So next time instead of thinking everybody is having a go at you take it on board. If what you were doing wasn’t for such a great cause I would report you myself purely on your ignorance.

I'm riding that way in a couple of months making my own videos for my channel along the way - reckon I'll swing by Terry's Mechanic with a coffee for being such a top bloke. I'll bring a sponge as well and mop up your oil too - holy moley whacking it in a coke bottle and throwing it in the bin is still wrong but would be miles better than what ya did you crazy bugga, we all love ya regardless. I do oil changes on my rides around Australia - just strap the bottle on the bike, google maps for a dump along the way and nothing to it. Some mechanics are good enough to take it if you give them a few bucks. Love your vids and love your work mate. Great cause you're riding for and great years of your life you're riding in. Thanks for sharing it mate.

Terry was right, if you don't know how to adjust the chain, you shouldn't be riding. With the kilometers you are putting on you should be adjusting them at the end of each day. Good luck, hope you make it.

@@JL-kg2zl Okay, let me put it another way. If one is going to ride a bike with a chain, they need to learn how to care for it. It needs to be adjusted every 500-1000 km along with being lubed. That is why the bike came with a tool kit so the owner can do this basic maintenance themselves. Not learning how to do this shows that the rider lacks basic motorcycle knowledge, and in his case no desire to learn. I won't even start on his lack of oil knowledge. I do wish him Good Luck and I made a donation to his cause.

Top tip for refilling oil, if you need a funnel cut the top portion off a coke/water bottle and use it as a funnel! Boom motorcycle life hack!

These reptiles were advised to use Castrol MAGNATEC 10W40 ( car oil ...? ) in a Honda Mini Trail motorcycle : ( Transmission: 4-speed; Clutch: Multiplate wet ) Hopefully they can store the friction modifiers in the bottle they keep their blinker fluid ;-) When in doubt use diesel oil on wet plate clutch or anything with a allison c4 rating

No oil in the engine..stuffed chain from grinding it into dust on a gravel mound.....these Bogans are all class....Careful putting the new oil in..some got in the engine....the oil is a bit low...I know lets go in deep sand on the beach ..now the chains are "fixed"...Get a long piece of wire wrapped around the rear wheel..dump the bike on it's side and then drag the bike along the ground with the other bike whilst spraying it with sand /dirt...two geniuses here....

Burying your oil used to be commonly given advice in manuals etc until a few decades ago. Anyway, Terrys right you should know how to adjust a chain of you own a bike, doesn't matter that its brand new its worn with then distance you've travelled. You can cut the top off a water bottle or fold paper into a u shape and use it to pour the oil down into the bike

If that happens again, where you need to add oil, a piece of paper rolled like a funnel is better than how you did it. Also, can hold bottle upside down, poke a small hole in the bottom, put that hole over your oil filler hole, and then unscrew the cap so it can start to breathe and it works fine, done both many times on dirt bikes. Don't listen to the naysayers about dumping oil out in the middle of nowhere, that oil will soak back through the sand and back into the oil in the ground and will eventually be pumped back out and you will buy it again some day. Hahaha. Y'all crack me up.
