In the same vein as merchandise, there is a long unsolved mystery surrounding Mountain Dew in the Philippines. There are two flavors that we have sparce images of (1 or 2 for each), but we have no information on the timeframe for their releases, or if they were widely released whatsoever. What makes the search even harder is that the flavors bare the same name as American releases so it is hard to narrow search results without missing things
@Nslugger132 жыл бұрын
For those who may be curious, the flavors are Revolution, and the other we suspect is Supernova (due to the poor quality of the image is basically impossible to be sure). We also know of Code Red from the early 2000s being released there, but I haven't done a thorough search for that one in specific yet.

RE: Naruto. If the figure was auctioned off at Wizard World then I'd bet that it was featured somewhere in Wizard: The Comics Magazine from the first half of 2006. Wizard World was a convention (conventionS at one point) run by that magazine (well, Wizard Entertainment, the company that made that magazine then went onto do bigger things like conventions). Sadly I don't have any from this time because this is post-format change and I don't have any of that era, because it was crap, but that might be good place to look, they should be scanned and online somwhere too.

I actually just recently found something on obscure or lost plush toys. There is a set of plushs of Roger, Alex, Panda, and Kuma from Tekken of unknown origin, at least from what I can find. There are only two images and sources of them I can find. One is a tweet from latter 2019 of someone who's had them asking if anyone has anymore info on them. It got very little attention and the only comment is some jerk needlessly saying they don't care. The other is what appears to be them in a display case, it's clearly the same plushs but with slightly different designs like Alex's eyes. It looks like the one you have. Where did you find that?
@LSuperSonicQ Жыл бұрын
I found them on Yahoo Japan a couple years ago, I think another set of Roger and Alex has gone up since then but I don't recall them looking any different. There's also a mini Kuma and Panda that go with the big ones, but they're much harder to find.

But it can't be 1997, Yuji signed it on december 9th 1999, at least thats what the autograph says. Sonic Adventure was unveiled in august 1998 and from what I know they might've revealed the modern designs before the unveiling event but that was like a week or two before it. Maybe there is some information that we can still find about these. Also I wasn't expecting another collection showcase so soon, cool stuff!

UGH! I have that Tree Kakashi. Truly speaking to Mattel's quality, in trying to get the figure into the tree's slot, the figure snapped in half at the waist. Then I went back to return it for a new one, and the ONLY other one there already broke off in the package, but I didn't know that until I opened it up. Had the glue the thing together. It held up, but that's just absolutely poor design that something that's supposed to attach to something can't. I also once purchased a blind box figure of some character's name I can't remember (the guy who was more perverted than Kakashi, haven't seen this anime in years), and one of the arms was missing.
@LSuperSonicQ Жыл бұрын
I've actually seen a lot of broken Kakashi figures, that explains it. Yeah I agree the actual plastic quality isn't great and even a lot of the accessories pop off or don't fit in the slots correctly. It would be great if Bandai started making figures based on more obscure characters.
@mightyfilm Жыл бұрын
@@LSuperSonicQ I blame the joint they were using. I remember it looking hollow when it snapped. You'd think there'd be some quality control, but I also own the Zoro from One Piece that was recalled for them lazily and cheaply not attaching a second layer of plastic to the exposed magnets, so...yeah. Mattel had just terrible quality back then. I think it was around the same time they had the lead paint problem with the Batman and Sesame Street toys.

So, I know Ben 10 isn't something you collect, but I own a really obscure Ben 10 figure and I haven't seen any pictures of it other than my own. Around the time Alien Force started airing, and they released the toys for that series, they had a collaboration with the now defunct, danish toy store BR Leker. BR was one of the biggest toy stores in scandinavia, and at the time they had a club program where you could get stickers every time you spent money at the store and fill in these pages and when you filled them in you could trade them in for a discount on toys. But another benefit of this club program was that during the month of your birthday you could choose a free toy from like a selection they had behind the counter. These products were only available through this program. Most of the ones I can remember were like a frisbee or a water bottle or like one of those cups that shoots a ball and then you have to catch the ball in the cup, you know, typical toys, and they had like the BR mascot on them, however, one of the toys that were available for a period of time was a golden Ben 10 figure released exclusively for this. They did later go on to make golden figures during Ultimate Alien, but they had more printing on them, the one released for this had the Alien Force branding, and had no printing at all except some copyright information and like legal stuff for plastic regulations and stuff. It came in a small cardboard box with Ben 10 Alien Force branding and on the top of the box it said BR Club. As a kid who was obsessed with Ben 10 as a kid, I obviously chose that one, and I've had it ever since, I even have the box.

I have a big 12 inch Mario wearing a baseball glove Sofubi from Japan I got in a trade for three pop in 2018. The story from the person I got it while in Australia in Military in 2008 as a gift from someone who took leave in Japan then the Mario went from Australia to Germany to Italy to Texas to Florida to Chicago during their time in the military so it's a little beat up box. Scanning the UPC goes to the version holding a mushroom and every designer toy, video game collectible and Nintendo group have never seen or know anything about but a Luigi with baseball bat one to go with it but dozens offered me money for it still but much like me more to own as an obscure mystery. If anyone knows anything or has seen it let me know because I want to know the real history and place it came from before known account. My theory is that it along with Luigi with baseball bat were a promo variant items for preorder or premium edition for Mario Baseball on Wii at certain retailers. Which would line up with the 2008 time frame and why it sources back to the common mushroom one.
