You might remember some older toy companies like Kellytoy and Toy Network but have you seen the products they never released? Let's revisit some plushes and figures that have been discovered but were never found.

This was awesome. Definitely will. Also, here’s something odd: I know of a peice of lost media I don’t think I’ve seen anyone else mention: an animation associated with DidYouKnowGaming, and Hidden Block. I’ve been wanting to make a post about this on the Lost Media Wiki, or ask in the forums for a while now, but I’ve always been shy and afraid to ask how it works. I can describe the animation in tons of depth, and even did some sketches based on my memory of it. Hopefully I may be able to get some advice on how to go about posting this on LMW but for now, I’ll leave a simple summary here: It was a 2d animation I watched on KZbin in the mid 2010s, that was a parody of DidYouKnowGaming’s videos. In it, a talking animal (some kind of anthropomorphic reptile or dragon, based on my memory) was telling the viewers obviously wrong game information. The reptile/dragon was voiced by one of the members of Hidden Block network (the same studio DidYouKnowGaming is in). I don’t remember for sure, but it was either Jimmy Whetzel, or Yungtown. The voice acting was very cartoonish old man voice, seemingly made to joke / parody DYKG’s typical videos, perhaps as some lighthearted humor between these KZbinrs. The reason the reptile/dragon got his facts wrong, was because he was very old (represented by the reptile having lots of wrinkles on him). Honestly I’ve been searching for this animation for so long, every since I tried to find it again and saw it had vanished. Because of the silly voice acting I couldn’t remember if it was Yungtown or Jimmy who did the voice, so I actually sent a Twitter DM to them both, explaining my story and asking if they remember this / can help it be found again, but they didn’t respond to me, which I did kinda expect considering I’m a low follower count, random stranger and they probably get lots of DMs.

Have you ever come across or think you remember a show that your not sure exists? I was a asd adhd kid, I was watching TV religiously in the early 2000s I was born in 96. I know I saw this show on mtv or mtv2. The show was a very graphic animation. It was 2 stoner like dudes kind of like bevis and butthead. But they did stunts, that always ended badly. It was very gorey. I remembered being terrified as a kid. But it played it off for laughs. There were some pretty weird experimental shows back then. That lasted all of 2 seconds. I seem to be the only person I know who remembers Rave Master's and Wulin Warriors which was a fever dream in of itself that turned out to be real. So let me be real , real quick. I was on meds growing up. Risperdal which apparently fucked with my memory. In tandom with Trileptal and Adderall. And if it was real. And it did scare me. I probably even tried to forget it. I'm not sure if it was claymation or puppets or Dolls. But I know it was weird and realistic. They were like kids doing stupid stunts in a neighborhood. The gore always looks weirdly real like they used fake blood instead or animating clay. I remember one where they both ended up getting impaled on spikes. Like wooden pikes idk if it was a fence 🤔. Which I could find this. That's all the memory I have of it really. Right question might help otherwise I got nothing. I just was confirmation real or not real. I can't find anyone who's heard of it or remembers anything.

Lost Media - Fat Blue Sky (Television Show). Aired around 2007 on CBC and the X-Treme channel. Adventure sport, following a bunch of skateboarders, BMX riders, mountain bikers, surfers and so on. Tons of personality, notable controversy, only two known references that I can find.

I'll be seeking out "The Morgan Waters Show" and "Yam Roll" next. I have a rare signed print, received from the studio when Yam Roll originally aired, as I was one of the small number of people who enjoyed it and entered a contest. Following those, I'll be seeking out "Good Morning World", which has a very limited amount of found material.

As someone who sometimes sorts through donations, I'm almost certain a lot of Really Cool Thrift Shop Items come from people who have died. A grieving family who may not be aware of the value of the belongings or are just too deep in sorrow to care will mass donate entire priceless collections to thrift stores or libraries. To put it in perspective how little some grieving families pay attention to what they're donating, on multiple occasions I have found VHS home movies (once a family bible!) in donation piles. Only once or twice was I able to find who donated it, but when I did, it was from a dead relative

Ok on the topic of prototypes. There's these weird bendable Invader Zim toy thingies from 2019-ish and the only figures made were Zim and Dib (I have them both). For some reason I was looking them up on Google and found pictures of the prototypes at some kind of Toy Fair. But what stuck out to me the most is that there was also a Gaz figure, which obviously was never released. I've never heard anyone else talk about this before and I'm curious to know why she got cancelled. I also wonder why there was no GIR as he's the most marketable character of the show

My favourite thing is bratz prototypes for dolls that were intended to be released but never made it to mass process, like the in box babyz felicia that was found last year or someone that found a costume party Ashley at a warehouse sale in China this year. Or how images of the inbox mattel prototypes for bratz recently surfaced, we thought that had just made heads that had surfaced on eBay and had never finished the dolls or even made bodies, but images of what the full dolls would have looked like were found. Glad mattel didn't get bratz in the end lmao

My brain might be remembering incorrectly but I could’ve sworn I saw the Chowder, Schnitzel, and Mung or whatever his name is at the OC fair. I had a pretty decent amount of Sonic shirts back then. Mostly the mid 2000's style modern design. That colorful nostalgic design you see in Sonic Advance and such. And yeah I didn't realize until this video. You really don't see those videogame shirts from back then around anymore. I barely even remember the ones i had before, but I wore them to school and others did too. It's a pretty wild realization.

That Cheese plush looks pretty nice. I have a rare Chao plush myself, supposedly it was a prize from some gaming competition? That's what my mom told me, and that there were only 6 I believe. I'll look for the plush itself soon, I had it in my basement and lost track of it... I know that's irresponsible. My mom got it from China, I would guess around 2004 because I was hyperfixated on SA2B and somewhere around 10 years old.
@autistictips11612 жыл бұрын
I also just realized it's a possibility my mom just didn't know the difference between Chinese and Japanese, so I wonder if it really was from China.

@@megadong2398 sorry I wasn't getting notified of comments. When I was a kid, toy prototypes were made first, then they'd try to made a cartoon based around the merch. Maybe arcade games couldn't work that way too. Used to collect plushies decades ago, but they took up so much space I had to switch to keychains & vintage christmas ornaments. Kinda interested to hear more about those bootleg handheld devices. Popstations & scrapped prototype consoles are interesting. Bootleg toys are also really interesting because it's fun to figure out what company's moulds the knockoffs are made from.

I want to find a short I saw when I was a kid in late 90's early 00's. I watched it on a channel called LOCOMOTION (I don't know if it was a channel just here in Latin America or if it was an international version of other network). That channel used to stream content mostly for young adults. There was a segment that aired mostly near midnight called LOCOTOMIA that showed short films and animations. The short I'm talking about was in "clay motion" (it reminds me now that chicken movie made in this format) and I recall it was about a society in which everyone does what they're supposed to: everyone goes to work at the same place, everyone goes shopping at the same place, etc. At some point the main character notices a window and is unable to see what's "outside". After various days of walking by that window with the rest of the people at the same time, the main character takes a peek out of that window and goes through it and ends up "outside" where there's a beautiful sight of a sky full of stars. Then he looks back at the window and sees how all the people inside goes from one side to another at the same time and at the same rhythm. The short ends here. The whole short had no dialog, only sound effects when needed, like people walking, working and being at home. I remember being a kid and thinking that some of the shorts that aired in that segment (LOCOTOMIA) used to be so long but I guess that being a kid enjoying some TV made me think they were long. I remember this short in particular because it meant so much to me at a young age to get a message like that: DARE TO GO OUTSIDE. It defined my way of thinking from there to the present day and I will carry that message with me for the rest of my life.
@francishollingshead21342 жыл бұрын
I did some research on LOCOMOTION. I found out that LOCOMOTION was owned by Hearst Publishing. So, I looked for science fiction magazines thinking that it was some kind of science fiction that was published in a Hearst-owned magazine and was produced on the cheap to take advantage of the rights, but I went to Wikipedia's list of science fiction magazines, which helpfully came in a table that listed "publisher" and Hearst wasn't listed. So, I wondered if this wasn't an adaptation of an SF short story, which was my first thought, but rather some kind of short with a message about conformity. The main issue is that the lack of dialogue means I can't tell what the country of origin was. I began to think of Don Hertzfeldt, but it's not him. For one, he doesn't do Claymation and two, he would have been a bit young at the time. I was assuming that the short was American, but for all I know it could have been from Latin America, or even Europe.

For the Metroid figure, the first thing I thought of was that it might be a garage kit? Which is basically a ‘make your own’ figure sculpted by independent artists and have very limited numbers. Since it’s a figure you have to build and paint yourself, it makes sense for the figure to not be actually shown as one put all together? Or to be only shown as sample art I’m not sure why it would be cancelled though, even if it was a garage kit. Maybe the artist didn’t want to distribute it or something happened to the original version???

Technically toys are a form of media, so I'd have to say they count in the lost media pantheon, even though I don't really want them to.

I'm not sure where else to post this as I can't find a Discord or send a message anywhere! I have a Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack key chain made by Loungefly. I haven't been able to find the exact one I have online anywhere. Flapjack is standing saying "WHAT!?" with his hands on his cheeks. I'm happy to send photos or any more info if you have any interest in seeing it!

I have a plush mew I won in a raffle at my secondary school in the early 2010s that I have no idea whether it's real or a bootleg

Was the silver sonic McDonald’s toy ever released in Europe? Because I recall having played with one when I was a kid but I live in Belgium. I don’t think I owned it which means that either: - it was from a toy box from one of the schools that I’ve been part of - it was in a toy box in the paediatricians or dentists waiting room - it was owned by a classmate who took it to school - it belonged to the neighbour kid that I used to play with Either way I haven’t seen it since at least the mid 2000s and haven’t spoken to most of these people in just as long so idk where to look…
