Hey, I saw you're running RC. Isn't it a bit risky to use Maelstrom right at the beginning like that ? If the boss moves a bit you might lose the Maelstrom buff for surge

in a real raid 90% of the time you will lose maelstrom buff before surge, but the reason I use it early is so 1. Cap attack speed, higher attack speed = faster rotation 2. You get 7 total stacks from maelstrom from full duration, so the earlier you use it, the more stacks you'll have by the end 3. it just fits the rotation better (copied rotation from powdersnow and the rotation is smooth af You can run a rage rune on Surprise Attack, which will cap your movement speed. It procs more often than you think. But yes you will not get full raid captain efficiency for half of your surges, its purely for a faster and smoother rotation. At the end of the day its preference, if you use spincutter in your rotation you can probably hold maelstrom until later in the rotation, but I like using spincutter to reposition since i only have single synergy on Surprise Attack

Is it really worth running RC with it being a best case scenario of 2%, over CD and unlikely 100% uptime? I can see for 5×3+2 you can run it with adren 2 instead of 3 but if for +1 or just 5x3 it doesn't seem the best

@@danyaala9104 yes, its a much better engraving than CD and KBW. CD has diminishing returns with AP buffs, atro, and adrenaline. KBW has dimishing returns with entropy set. Raid captain is a multiplicative damage source. If you are worried about maelstrom not being up for surge, you can delay maelstrom to later in your rotation. There are also a lot of movement speed synergies in the game, such as artist, striker, wardancer, aero, on top of that your rage rune has a 20% chance to proc (and you use surprise attack twice in your rotation). It is 100% a better engraving than the other options

do you think changing CD for raid captain is important in this patch? there's a big difference that we actually can see? (i have my BiS class accesory with CD Sadge)

Raid captain is gonna be on average a 16-17% flat multiplicative damage increase (meaning it scales with other damage boosts really well). if you're running CD + adrenaline, you're gonna have diminishing returns so it ends up being less damage overall. I'm not sure on the math exactly but i want to say that raid captain will be at least 3-4% better than CD with rage rune, maelstrom, feast, etc. For a 5x3+1 build i would absolutely swap, it wouldnt cost much at all to swap. If you're 5x3+2 though thats a bit different, personally I would swap because you can sell all your accessories and make a new build for relatively the same price. If blade is your main you should consider swapping but if its just an alt then i wouldnt worry too much

If you have elixirs, adren 1 isnt that bad but definitely do NOT go kbw, run the same engravings as me (raid, surge, grudge, cd, ambush, adr 1-2). I also hate EP and it sucks for most current content. However, if you are thinking of doing thaemine g3 and g4, EP 1 is gonna be your best bet

surge is 100% better, and very practical in a real raid. RE has trouble replicating trixion dps in a real raid scenario cuz u need to hit everything back attack. However its still very strong, just a tier below surge currently

Its viable, but personally i dont like the idea of attack speed being slowed. There are scenarios where you pop maelstrom and then have to dodge mechanics so you arent stacking. Once you get back to the boss, you will have -10% attack speed unless rage rune procs so you'll just be stacking slower during this period. I also have played with CD since launch basically so its not really an issue for me. That being said, its still viable especially if you run with a static and run with a WD, striker, aeromancer, artist, or bard for AS. If you want to make a high spec build for cheap tho, MI is fine, its just preference at the end of the day.

my stone is CD adren, so i cant swap even if i wanted to KBW is gonna be more dmg with a crit syn but its not that big of a difference, it just allows u to play without CD negative basically

yep, although the class plays fine with lvl 7-8 CDR gems, if you have really good uptime, you will notice level 10 gems will make a difference. The important ones are surprise attack -> windcut -> blitz rush -> blade dance -> EC in that order Note that surprise attack and windcut dont actually matter for the rotation, but if you miss skills it can help you recover by having these skills come up faster. The actual important ones will be blitz rush and blade dance if you want a smooth rotation
