Kiefer Sutherland (24, Designated Survivor) and Jason Patric (The Lost Boys) join us this week to talk about their bond built off of The Lost Boys, being intimidated by other actors, and what it was like growing up with Hollywood royalty in their families. Kiefer and Jason reminisce on how they met and how they each developed as young actors by helping certain productions of movies. The guys reveal some funny stories while on the set of Lost Boys and Kiefer’s wedding and later we discuss how social media and cinema coexist in modern day entertainment.

The Lost Boys could have been a really cheesy, terrible movie. But it had such a great director, cast and crew. It's like they said, their dedication and wanting the best people to be a part of it helped make it a classic! I just watched it a couple of months ago, and it didn't seem dated at all! Another thing about the movie that I really liked was Star, Jamie Gertz's character was strong and intelligent, not just Eye Candy. Love this episode! Thank you!

The great thing about Keifer is he has played bad guys and good guys. He's played some pretty dark characters and the ultimate badass as Jack Bauer in 24.

Kiefer's career has been insane and his personality is incredible for these types of things Jason has had amazing roles like the one in Rush. I always feel bad for him though when doing the rounds because he's more shy and Kiefer takes a lot of attention. After being the hot guy for so many years I wonder if he enjoys the back burner now or if it bugs him. God I miss 80's and 90's movies

True to his Canadian roots, Keifer is a helluva hockey player too. Strong, strong defenseman. Got to see him play in a charity game in the early 2000's and he was a stud on skates.

I never understood why Jason Patric didn't become higher profile after the Lost Boys, but then that statement was based on his youthful looks, not his acting ability. When I did a little research it all comes together - like Keifer, Jason has a famous acting family. 'Father Damien' from the Exorcist was a real father and Jackie Gleeson was his grand dad. Ummm, yep. That's all I'll say about that . . . .

Fantastic! The bridge scene freaked me out for days! I walked into a cop bar dressed as a cat once, and they did not approve. I was asked to leave, hahaha. But the dude at the Harley Davidson dealer didn't bat an eye. I met Mr. Sutherland in Scotland a long time ago, and he was very polite. I've since met a lot of really cool people who say the same about him. Kudos, you guys are all right. Waving hi from Maine. 😘

my birthday is June 17th also, i was probably about 15 when Lost Boys came out. guess i was right in the target audience, i already had a thing for sort of weird youth gang films and yes it is a vampire movie but it is also a weird youth gang film. so yeah the teen outcast sort of punk/metal/goth gang element of it appealed to me more than the vampire thing did.

I think that was during the production of Flatliners circa 1990, which Roberts co-starred in with Kiefer. The Lost Boys was released a few years previously in 1987, and didn't have Roberts as a cast member. Both movies were directed by Joel Schumacher.
