Inspired by your continuing saga of OUATITW, I watched the movie again 2 days ago. the 2:46 version. Yes, the film would have benefited from another 10-15 minutes to tie some scenes together. The sequence between Frank and Jill was particularly choppy. and the one that left me scratching my head. That being said I give the film an A-. Much of the film is brilliant, notwithstanding a story line which would have benefited with more not less. And now that my memory is refreshed... Fonda was superb.. closely followed by Robards.

Howdy Mark and the 6th June looms large on the horizon, I've been away all week Outback out of range of any services, great to come back and read this input ..... you summed it up perfectly and you never know, with today's CGI technology maybe one day that lost footage will be remade and added in ... cheers old mate, stop reading and get painting ha ha

ah yes old mate, you do have to find the time, a favorite chair and maybe a favorite brew too ... as to my holster. In Australia the penalty for owning a unlicenced handgun is $35,000 and 7 years hard-time. Outlaw bikers of course have them by the dray load. In my US cavalry holster, genuine leather, made by well known US saddle maker, is a plastic toy accepted for sale in Australia. But the butt looks good, as most do ha ha

There's so many old movies out there that were cut....sometimes to the detriment of the story or the flow.....but the studios only wanted them a certain length. As for who would play whom.....you'd better get practicing with the harmonica Steve m8😅😅😅😅

cheers Stan, yes, I was just reading this morning a critic talking about Horizon, accepted movie length and accepted length for the pilots of TV series, heaven forbid someone breaks the Hollywood Formula!! As this is a G rated channel I'll make no comments about mouth organs .... oops.

You can do a “deep fake” or AI face swaps with some improvisations for the alternative ending…Could be hilarious or disturbing 😂!! kzbin.infoJFQjTshlh48?si=MpybIr00ZAFvUkme

Stop horsing around Steve, start painting those sets, background scenes, and props. Practice your lines, we are gunna need Codys full vocabulary of the snuffle, whinnying, neighing, the sigh, the squeal, blowing raspberries, and to finish the scene, the nicker as well as the groan. Codys kicking, pawing, stamping and head toss, won't require much practice. According to Hanks: when Clint Eastwood directed, so as not to scare the horses by shouting "ACTION" He would say in a really quiet soft voice, ‘All right, go ahead,’ and instead of shouting ‘Cut!’ he says ‘That’s enough of that.'”

ha ha, oh if only I was a younger man I just might take you up on that lot ... as to Clint's direction, yes, I've heard a few actors report on that really laid back quiet directing style and also his easy going approach to scenes so that usually one take was enough, not like Sergio who did retake after retake over the tiniest changes ... cheers old mate, I always appreciate video suggestions but in this case I think it is a case of 'a back-drop too far'
