I didn't realise my old home town had so many relics of the past. I have been enjoying your series immensely; I almost feel nostalgic! I once lived next door to martin Cash's house, and have been inside. No one takes much notice of history in that down to earth, working class city. Thank you!

What a great series by Dog and Angus. Great research and what a shock to see Tololsa St Reservoir gonski. Last time I was there for a school picnic in the 80's the place was quite pleasant and full of water. Two ugly water tanks is progress I guess. Loved all the vids during the year and look forward to see what Dog and Angus have in store for 2025.

Thank you, Rod. Appreciate it greatly. Yeah, they’ve done a good job repurposing the site. In time it will become an even better park. Seeing it from above is an eye opener. Happy New Year to you.

Great series. I just moved away from Glenorchy after living there for the last eight years - crazy to see how that place has (d)evolved(?) and changed over the years, and I must thank you for your works unveiling history unknown to me. For example, I used to work as a contractor in McKays Timber. I didn't know what the ruins in the yard were for years until I saw this video explaining that it used to be a manor. I would love to see a similar series about the history of New Norfolk if you ever find the time and inclination. Cheers Angus!

Nice one Angus 👍 Sure some of Glenorchy is like looking at the Elephant man but it's like and old worn out pair of New Balance runners. Even though there is no tread left when you wash em in a bucket of washing detergent the rinse under the tap and let them dry in the sun the leather uppers are still like freakin new!! Still good for round the house! Glenorchy, the old dog's breakfast is home and it's comfortable like an old pair of runners.

I reckon the story of Glenorchy could go on for quite sometime. It shows how time flys soooo quick when one remembers the Bowen Bridge opened in 1984 😲. The reason glenorchy hasn't got much old world charm left , because the estates were quite large , so it was easy to turn it into modern housing estates leaving just a few premier properties surviving today , and sitting on very small lots

Oak hill off Mary’s Hope road was featured on your video. Of interest, I understand the fence lines you referred to are on the origin land title boundaries. Also I believe the pipeline is the lake Fenton line. It burst in the ‘60’s and flowed down the hill into Islet creek. The old homestead belong to the Jacques family, a well respected family in Glenorchy’s history. They had a dairy in the ‘60’s and sold milk locally.

Hi Angus, I recently stumbled across your channel. Loving it. Have you heard of Hobart’s lost cricket pitches? I learnt about them about 10 years ago when I was learning how to mountain bike. I can only remember where two are! I is on the domain, opposite the aquatic centre. It is mostly overgrown. The other is underneath the walkway/ramp to the centotaph. They are concrete cricket pitches. Just an idea, which I think is interesting forgotten history where people would have gathered once. Have a good Christmas! Cheers

The lost cricket pitches are cool. The one up on the domain is maybe the best.
