LOST COAST 2024

Backpacking trip in September of 2024 along the Lost Coast Trail of Northern California. We started at the Mattole Trailhead and traveled approximately 25 miles to Black Sands Beach over 5 days.

If you're up for a challenge, there's actually a southern section to this trail, it goes from Usal Beach north to shelter cove. But it is incredibly difficult and overgrown, I wouldn't recommend it unless you are down for a real adventure

I've been to USAL several times and was somewhat aware of that trail. Seems like poison oak is a high probability and it didn't really appeal to me as it didn't drop down to the coast (I don't think)?
