They ended it with a cop out. They kept promising to explain all the mysteries of the island, and very clearly advertised it as a show being all about the mysteries of the island. Then near the end they tried to pretend like the show was *only* about characterization as they threw everything out the window. I appreciated it for the ride, but the ending was basically a dream sequence when they said they wouldn't end it like that.

@AnthonyMcNeil8 жыл бұрын
+Impervious The ending was, in retrospect, the best way they could have ended the show. It was no way that they were going to be able to explain everything. Could it be deemed as a cop out? Yes, but really, what other way could they have ended the show? After they explained everything, how could they have ended it? They were in a tough spot. So I agree with what you are saying but thinking back on the many mysteries the show had, it was no way they could have explained them all.

Lost is so ingenious, so ahead of its time. This show rattled me to my core. I'm on my 4th rewatch now. Everytime I finish it I want to start right over from the beginning. No show has ever come anywhere close to having that kind of effect on me. It's such a good show, it almost makes me sad, knowing there will never be anything better. There's plenty of other shows I really enjoy: Breaking Bad, True Detective, Boardwalk Empire, Westworld, Homeland, The Wire, Better Call Saul, Billions, Person of Interest, Stranger Things, House of Cards, Game of Thrones, etc....These are all fantastic. Something about Lost though, it's the show of all shows. The sheer mystery of it, and how that mystery unfolds endlessly from start to finish. The fact that it's not even Rated R and is the best, speaks to how truly genius the story and suspense is. No curse words or forced sex scenes to keep people intrigued, unnecessary with this, epic masterpiece...........

I love the way they start the second season off with a mysterious scene that seemingly has nothing to do with the show or any of the main characters. They hide this characters face to heighten the mystery. The use of an obscure song from decades ago to set the mood. The use of the instrumental music after he realizes there is a disturbance to increase the tension. Then the final reveal where we learn that this is what's in the hatch, the answer to the mystery that every fan wanted to know. This scene is brilliant.

And to have such a wide set of brilliant characters. I mean think about it - Ben, Locke, Sawyer, Jack, Dez, Charlie, Hurley, Richard and even ones introduced much later on in the series - Daniel, MIB, Juliet, Widmore. I could go on. Love this. One of the greatest season premiere scenes in TV history. Just brilliant.

I came here because I think of this whenever I see those memes with Nicholas Cage and Pedro Pascal, and now I was reminded of how incredible the whole soundtrack of this series is.

This is still the GOAT show. Even in 2021. Nothing comes remotely close. Not even GOT.

2021 heat wave in the southwest US - I'm training for a marathon on a treadmill/dreadmill. I somehow remember Desmond and specifically this scene!! Amazing to find it here. Thank you 😄

I'm almost sure this wasnt planned, but start at 2:26, the music follows the numbers pattern, then the timing of the scenes finishes it. 4 instances of the first melodic line, 8 instances of the next, 15 of the 3rd, 16 seconds for the title screen, 23 seconds until we once again get the shot looking up through the hatch (I couldnt find a 42 with the timing afterwards, other than 42 seconds after the previous, jack says John's name, the person wanting to explore the hatch). We also see Desmond do 16 actions before the blast (4 before resetting the numbers; opening of his eye; getting out of bed; riding of the stool; and typing at the computer) a total of 23 counting before the blast and after the blast. 42 seconds after we see desmond for the last time is when the intro scene ends. We also see him interact with 4 things he ate with, a bowl, plate, glass, and fork, he rides the bike at 16(presumably mph?), we see him do 8 pull-ups and crunches, the blender is filled to just below 16oz, which is probably closest to 15. The "vaccine" in the medical box is labled as CR 4-8151623 42 (not as subtle and definitely added on purpose. I'm probably reading way to into this but its interesting how all the numbers still line up with everything going on.
