Gr8 video. Now the awesome food prepared by the kind family for Chang seems a lot like Malvani cuisine found in the southern regions of Maharashtra and also Goa. Just my opinion, correct me if I'm wrong. Will travel for food.

I would agree. My observation at the beginning of the episode was based on not knowing what the Saraswat Brahmin cuisine is like. Cultures & food are bound to overlap in big countries like ours and since Goa is on the same geography as Maharashtra, there's a definite similarity.
