Lost in a canyon

An easy day called for some adventure so Wombat could enjoy our final days before road walking to the coast for a week or so… and so… we took a 400m shortcut that I knew would take longer because we were following a trail in and out of a canyon.
But the trail led us to an abandoned house… which I found a long time after our trail abandoned us.

Ummmmmmm. Not really. There are snakes but they would have heard me coming! Also, mosquitoes now I’m in a malaria zone.

Got some love from the hotel, that’s nice to get a bit of unexpected compassion after day brutal day. You probably already know about FarOut app, I look in there for trails for your general route but I did not find any along your route until the Mexico /USA boarder. Nice of Wombat to kiss you a 💋. At least it is not raining.

I typically use MapOut. It’s been the best for spotting trails so far. Though sometimes too good: hence the abandoned trail. I’ll check out your recommendation!
