I only realised there would be a VST plugin of these effects afterwards. But it makes a huge creative difference to use it in a real physical setup I believe.

This is the first time I've heard anyone actually make this pedal sound like bad .mp3 compression like how I remember it. I can't figure out what you're doing differently.

I really like what I've seen from demos of this pedal. Sadly, the price and the fact you need lots of free time to figure out how it works and read the manual. I'm currently a stay at home dad so I lack the time to get one of these and really be able to use it.

Good point. But to be honest. It took me half an hour in the morning to read the very beautiful and easy to understand manual while still in bed. After that I was ready to nerd around with it. But it's definitely more of an experimental pedal than a must have.

You should check out the Chase Bliss Generation Loss pedal. It’s basically the same concept, but for analog tape degradation. I find it to sound better aswell.
