Amen! Recently I’ve been struggling with this, true love does not always come off as nice. The gospel is offensive to those who are perishing. But to water down the gospel into an ear tickling easy believism is a hateful thing. We’ve bought into a lie conceived in the pit of hell that true love means not offending others.

“Niceness” can be a great evil in disguise; it may appear as “love”, but by withholding Truth, it allows men to walk the broad road unto their own destruction! “Niceness” is more concerned with our self-esteem, while Truth is more concerned with our eternal well-being. We are saved, not through the “word of niceness”, but “The Word of Truth”. James 1:18 nasb

"Every sin is an inside job. It's not, "the Devil made me do it." It's, maybe, "I was born this way", that's why we must be born again. It is said, "For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." I'm trying to reconcile that statement with my lifestyle. Please pray for me as I do battle with my selfish nature.

Almost every morning I first listen to Dutch Sheets to pray with the early bird prayer warriors and then feed my mind and soul with the soundest of doctrines as I listen to Alistair Begg. He is my favorite preacher and teacher but our young associate pastor also has his name on the short list of the GOATs (greatest of all times). May all of you listening and responding so enthusiastically to such wisdom be blessed and be used by the Lord for His glory and honor.

I am so thankful that there are still pastor/teachers who speak the truth and challenge us. If I am not challenged when listening to a preacher, then I stop listening. These are evil days of multiple voices which are deceptive. Lies never challenge us toward obedience to scripture/Christ.

My husband & I were just talking about this last night. Western "Christianity" seems to believe that if you're basically act "nice" and you go sit in a pew most Sundays, that covers it. Lord God forgive us, convict us, and teach us.

Sunday Christianity will save no one. Walking with the Lord is a 24/7 job. Salvation is the work of faith and sanctification is the walk of faith

Thank you, Pastor, for your faithfulness to the Word of God. And by the way, you convicted me to get back to my church, even with Covid and masks and all the rest....to show up and be faithful. If I can do it battling cancer, we all can :) God bless you from Southern California.

I am happy to say Every sermon which I have heard has been an encouragement to me . Especially the sermon which was preached to the students. As anxiety attacks all ages even our babies. Nevertheless the comfort of the Holy Ghost is our comfort and guide when we are fixing to land over in this glorious land which we have been getting ready for al our christian life. Thank ful to our Heavenly Fsther for his teachers and his preachers who truly want to please him.

Niceness is passive and ineffective and it saves no one. Christ was never "nice." He was kind and good, yet he spoke the truth.

This sermon is thrilling! The gospel is so clear. I have shared it with many people. Thank you Alistair. Medicine for the soul, Dr. Begg. It is obvious that you are going to God as an individual to get this kind of message. Thank you for that discipline you exercise. Without that there would be no message. I like you so much because the message does not come just from your head. It is not unprocessed or cliche. Glory be to God, our Father!

God bless you AB for sharing the truth and doing it so plainly. The truth of Gods word will free us from worry, despair and the burdens of this world. Hard as it may be to hear, it's the only thing that will set us free. Follow Jesus and you'll never be sorry you did in this life or the next one to come.

Ive been a Christian for 16 years, I have watched a weak willed church crumble and never challenge a single thing that is contrary to the word of God. Ive had to go to church regularly to a church whos leadership invite every heresy into the church. After over 10 years Im out. The reason is I could see what was going on and not one person inclding my spouse could not even relate to me because they did not listen or care about the world so they hid and treated anyone that mentioned anything as fools. Shame 😢
