I took a float plane ride in “warm weather”. It was still very cold inside. Very drafty. Maybe the Alaskans were nicer to their pilots when building the float planes. Did the pilot stay with you on the ground for an hour?

Yes - he hung around. There was really no place for him to go, plus he had to "protect" us in case of bears. You know how Loretta is with bears :-)
