How do you like Yokohama? I’m considering living there as Tokyo might feel overwhelming lol

I LOVE Yokohama! Tokyo has more of an international community, but other than that prefer Yokohama. It’s much more peaceful and beautiful and has water and room to breathe- plus it’s super central to everything. Do it!!

Yeah Tokyo doesn't appeal to me too much, and I'm trying to avoid the gaijin bubble 😅 I was watching a "4k walking" video in a Tokyo neighborhood and it sort of felt like a mixture of Japan and California to me lol. But maybe that's just that one area. I'm interested in Fukuoka, because of the clean river/views/overall modern look. But I think Yokohama could be similar, and is close to Tokyo if I ever need to go for work/friends who visit 🤔 Are there any neighborhoods or shopping areas I should check out to get a Vibe of what it's like to actually live in Yokohama? The only vids I've found so far are of Minato Mirai, is that touristy or do locals hang out there too? Thanks!

@@stevengold ok glad you asked because Minatomirai is the gaijin bubble of Yokohama! It’s cool and futuristic but also kind of sterile. Check out my “Perfect walk through Yokohama” video, you’ll get an idea. It’s an older video so not my best quality but it’ll do the job! I personally would check out Kannai neighborhood and also the area right near Yokohama station. Motomachi-chukagai as well.
