We used this for our son, only with the 'Tile' devices, have for years, and they have versions now that you can replace the batteries and are slim or tiny, ect, and you don't have to have a I phone to use it.

Although I will say that it's not great for tracking something which keeps moving - it can take up to 2 hours for it to notify you on the app, by which point the thing you're looking for is likely long gone! Can see it working perfectly for some keys you dropped/lost in the house though

In australia we have nuttag - designed to track pets but works great. The apple tag is specifically designed not to work on a moving item.

Apple has had some slack for the stalking possibility with AirTags. I wouldn't hold my breath that it gets an update to improve that in the future.

It may have taken a while to find her location because she was riding in a car I’m going pretty fast maybe if you’re only going out walking pace it’s easier to track

so , the tracker only works once you notice she is missing-so it could be some time before she is noticed missing-or does it track if she gets so many feet away from you guys or your home- I think its a great idea in your case because she is usually with you guys.

What happens if they wander into the woods without Bluetooth. We got Angelsense for my mother in law who had dementia and would wander it’s amazing how accurate it is plus it has a 2 way speaker to communicate with that person or just to let them know you are coming.

That is a fantastic device! They should definitely upgrade it so that it doesnt need a bluetooth device near it as if abbie does decide to just run away by herself she doesn't have a phone on her with bluetooth on. But I definitely love the idea

Hey Asa, you know what you should have done (I believe you have the iPhone 11 or 12.) Click the find button on her air tag then go out and search for her. It'll give you directions on where the airtag is.

I agree that it is a long time, but it is still faster than you can search out the whole neighbourhood. Have been there a few times when my brother with autism was still young. Feel like this would have helped a lot compared to 2 to 3 hours searching.

I have something that is so similar for my dog. It’s called a Huan tag. It works basically the same way. But I wish this was out when I got that cuz I would have done this because there is so many more users with it.

We have something similar but not as sophisticated-Tabcat Loc8tor for our cats. they've gotten themselves stuck a few times and we were able to find them. With the tabcat, you really have to be within about 100 feet of where the device is to find it. Before that we tried the TrackR that was more similar to this...but didn't work right.

I understand that is a long time in an emergency situation. I get that. But it is an electronic device that relies on Bluetooth so it can take a moment to update. We use the life360 app and it's actually really precise. But you need a device on the child like a phone or something. But at least that device did help within 15 minutes.

Try Tile maybe. Those have different distances on them, like 60 ft, 400 feet. That’s the disadvantage on that. My fiancé is incredibly forgetful, and he has one for his keys, and one for his wallet. You can also press the Tile on one of those devices, and it will help you find your phone.

Hey thanks for this video. My rambunctious teen has Down’s. School is nearby and she’s on training to walk independently to and from school as Mom prepares to return to the workforce. She wears an Air Tag with her school ID and so on. It works… within limits, especially if you have a phone that can’t support the precision tracking feature. If you don’t, it shows her in the general location (like a mall next to our house) but we would have to do some searching there if we were trying to find her. YMMV.

To the lady who said stick it on the back of an iPad, on the iPad you have FIND MY IPAD. SAME ON THE IPHONE. That’s a tracking system built into the device. Make sure it’s on, along with maps, and bobs your uncle. I use mine all the time. As for tracking Ab I would do it. Definitely. Track your dog, cat. Car. 👍🇬🇧♥️👍
