The idea of a day with SpongeBob just always seems so tangible a bootleg movie that barely had a release because the company was so shady, it feels like something that could exist like that SpongeBob in Tehran movie.

i’m a big fan of the way u tackled this subject so frankly. free of the “cinematic creepypasta atmosphere” that so many have. u just say it like it is ur quickly becoming my favorite lost media guy. great work!

Ayyyyyy appreciate it. Yea I want to be a quick to the point type creator. The cinematic creepy pasta atmosphere stuff is actually the content I envy greatly as I have no clue how to do that when it comes to lost media. I have a lot of respect for those creators. Only knowing how to make these videos my way means they’re guaranteed to differ from most other people talking about lost media. This was a very awesome comment for me to read. Thank you 💪🔥🤙

Honestly, I am glad he is very straight forward, I am not really fan of the dudes who use the "cinematic dramatic voice" that only narrators in real crime shows would use to talk about some freakin kid's show lost episode. lol

Yea I know right, I was thinking that while editing this and then kept thinking that while I saw the animation nations video on this from 2016. Which I believe is far better than this one because it hits the nail on the head with this entire thing wayyy before anyone had even properly mentioned this mystery. I don’t think there’s reasonable evidence for the police/fbi to open a case on these people. I mean to us it’s reasonable but not to law authorities that are probably busier with more serious stuff, so they’d likely throw this out if it got mentioned to them…

If people are still speculating that its real- it isn't. The artist behind the box art came out and posted he made it to mess with /CO/ at the time. Being honest, people would've assumed it was fake but because of the weird rabbit hole we got from the malicious company, it made it quite convincing by that alone.

I'm confused by the chronology of this - if the first thing of this mystery was the Amazon listing with the boxart image, how could somebody in the future then make the boxart to tie into this already-established mystery?

People are after lost media so I understand it completely. The lack of common sense would be majority kids who don’t understand logic and just want to: “watch the lost media”. They don’t want to accept or hear about the truth that it might not exist. Lol.

I've been saying that forever. These dorks thought there was really an episode of Ed, Edd and Eddy called "Special Ed" just because Danny Antonucci, the creator, joked in an interview about a fake episode based on a title that Cartoon Network NEVER would have agreed to do for an instant. The "community" took this seriously for decades, despite the fact that Danny was clearly joking about something that never existed.

@@the-NightStar tbf, that rumor goes back to the early 2000s before KZbin and modern social media platforms were a thing and the Internet was still new to some people. Back then more people would believe in conspiracies like that more easily compared to nowadays.

1:48 iirc. This theme song was actually made for a Spongebob Fanfiction/Fan-Project that coincidentally had the same name as the infamous film. And just like the film i'm pretty sure nothing was ever made for it aside from the theme song

To be honest with you, the second I learned this wasn't an official Nickelodeon film was the second I no longer gave a shit. It's interesting to expose the shadier sides of an underground business, but at that point, you get away from what was originally interesting about the search: a SpongeBob film Nickelodeon made and never released. That's what originally attracted me to the film, but since A, Nickelodeon never made it, and B, it was never even finished, I just didn't care anymore.

I've wondered about that Mr. Orange guy for awhile. I recall him saying he was planning on starting a Kickstarter to fund the film. I imagine that would have been a copyright disaster, had it come true. It is interesting that everyone collectively believed him when when everything he said could have been false. He is convincing, but you are correct that script could have easily been a mock up. While it is almost certain that nothing ever came from this, it is an interesting thought that there is something we don't have yet.
