The fact that there was no ambush initially made a huge difference in this combat. When we played it we were almost Tpked. I think the dm pulled some punches otherwise the adventure would have ended pretty early.

My friends and I did the Lost Mines as well, but we never finished it, just went to another campaign. However, my friend still won't let me forget that during one session, I (playing a barbarian) hid in another room while my friend (playing a bard) dealt with 6 goblins because I was out of rages and I was low health xD We won the encounter, somehow
