Don’t sell yourself short in your 40’s. You can still learn to shred and rip like the youngsters. 🤙🏾

This Lost is the kind of board you need to be riding. Makes way more sense than all those over sized grovellors where you can't sink the rail.

Yeah does allow you to spread that volume out over a more refined package :-) Cheers. Riding more mods now.. I am getting old lol

I’m 5’10 170lbs and surf 30-33L shortboards primarily. I just picked up one of these in 6’1 36.5L as a mini step up. I don’t surf anything bigger than 8ft so don’t need a true step up. Next swell that comes through I’ll let you know how it handled it.

Hello! What fins would you recommend for this board ? For 5 or 6 ft waves ?

Also any new thoughts on the Lost Hydra you reviewed as you didn't sound sold on it i.e. what's it like as a groveller forgetting about where it fits in your Lost quiver??
@lawson45uk

Yeah it's a good option and does perform quite well just has a few quirks I think but would depend on how small your riding it... Looks sick under Mason Hos feet :-) lol Probably a seaside or RNF retro be a more predictable option but might just need different fins or something not ridden it heaps since the first run.. made a few comments in chats on the review that might help you too

I’m 6’1 115kg I got the 6’8 but 1/4 inch less width. Board is amazing. It’s a daily driver for me.. I step down to a bean bag and step up to a crowd killer🤙

Craig Steven Nice mate solid quiver and the rockers on all those models are so nice for what your using them for 👌 don't know about you but soooo many other off the shelf boards have too much rocker for our local my local conditions.
@craigsteven5343

Obviously bean bag is flat as.. but it’s short.. I’ve had it in solid 4foot Oz beachies and it just handles. But the tail with and how far the quad is apart gets abit loose. The crowd killer and party crasher still have more rocker than you give them credit for.. maybe not on the deck but def on the rail. Matt biolos lists them both as moderate tail rocker. I like the party crasher a little more. I don’t have to move around so much on the board, and it’s handled everything I’ve thrown at it..

Craig Steven yeah nice. I find my bean bag all good uoto head high and sometimes a bit more at a push what Fins you run in your bean bag? Ha ha nice good to hear someone still thinks even the party crashed has moderate rocker and you guys get much better waves in Aussie. Sounds like you know your stuff and know what you like. How does the crowd killer go. Does it need to be shoulder plus or will it still ride with some range cross over with the party? Good to know the party crashed will be ok in a bit of size too. Looks and feels like it would but not had it out in anything much overhead yet what Fins so you run in your party crashed too out of interest.

All fcs2 split keels and machado quads in bean bag. XL performer and big guy boards XXL in party crasher. Crowd killer def goes better in good waves 3-4+

@@craigsteven5343 Mint :-) Cheers for the feedback always good to know what's working for people.. I love the split keels too.. Not sure if I tried my machado seaside quads in the bean bag but that would be a good match as it seems to like big as front fins and not too big rears which is strange as most grovel boards wide tail work mint with the split keels. I run AM twins and 2 of the stabilizers out of that same set and it works great. Neal Purchase Quartet if you want hyper speed but a little much for me sometimes. Cheers mate appreciate your feedback

Hello Mate!!! Im looking forward to get the party crasher around 6'0 or 6'1 (im 5,9), but the stock dims seems to wide for what I like. Since you are a shaper yourself, Do you think it would be OK to go 1/2 inch narrower on either the 6,0 or 6,1 Party Crasher?? Thank you!!
@lawson45uk
@lawson45uk Жыл бұрын
Hi Mate. Yeah 1/2” should be workable without spoiling the template. It’s best to have a chat to the lost guys when you order though. They can work the computer files and make sure the nose and tail dimensions still suit your intended waves etc. You might not want to narrow the nose and tail by the full 1/2” you take out of the middle if that makes sense but those guys will be expert with that stuff. Hope that helps. Cheers.

Love the show, great reviews! Curious as to know your thoughts on the Lost Party Crasher vs. Lost Quiver Killer if they were both at your daily driver dims of 6'4"?
@lawson45uk
@lawson45uk 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Thanks for your support :-) That's a good question and I would have to be able to see both boards to really tell the difference but I would expect the Quiver killer would have a little more rocker especially in the nose and also a bit more pulled in tail and possibly nose. The tail I would expect to have more surface area on the Party. Hard to tell just on stock dims and pics. Your talking about one model at the higher end of it's size range and the other at the lower. I think the party would be more like a stretched and refind rocket redux. Probably be a really good board though. I tend to get my QK out once it's shoulder high plus. Party might have a little more get up and go but again being completely honest I wouldn't want to claim I could really tell without looking at the boards side by side or at least a CAD file in front of me. Cheers.

You know your stuff! This one sounds great, how would you compare it to Seaside 6'1?
@lawson45uk
@lawson45uk 4 жыл бұрын
I'm assuming your talking about the party crasher... Mate, totally different boards... The Seaside at 6'1" would be cramming a lot of volume in so you would need to be a solid unit to avoid it feeling corky. I have a 5'11" and used to riding big volume per weight and that's got plenty. Seaside would feel short fat and skatey compared to a party crasher for sure. Party crasher would be able to handle a wide range of surf which the seaside can but only in the right volume per weight.. What do you weight and ride currently mate?

any advice on fin selection for the party crasher? i just got one, curious what others think
@lawson45uk
@lawson45uk 3 жыл бұрын
Hey buddy just been using my go to fins in mine and it doesn't seem to be too fussy so would recommend the same. Depends on the size and volume of the board and rider too obviously. I have been happy with a Biolos or Merrick Large so far personally. Go with what you know leaning towards the larger templates and tune from there would be my advice. Hope that helps. Cheers.

i bought a 6' 3" party crasher and it's on it way.... 6' 10" at 49l is a bigger board (at least for me 6' at 185lbs) so i was curious about what your height/ weight was? i listen you all your stuff while working. Keep the vids coming!

nice mate.. Let me know how you get on :-) Yeah for me it's a mod length we have a really slow wave. I have stuff like the Rocket Redux down at 39 Litres etc too.. Yeah I weight about 185 too. I ride pretty well over volume to be honest but older, 3/2-4/3 winter suits boots gloves, job etc etc :-P lol need to volume to make life easy... Our local is pretty much a longboard wave. Cheers.

Would you recommend the Party Crasher or RNF Retro as next board for 90kg beginner/intermediate moving down from a longboard? Surfing a beach break where longboards are in the majority.
@lawson45uk
@lawson45uk 3 жыл бұрын
Hi, both be great choices to be fair depends on what your looking for. If you want a fish or more of an all rounder. The party crasher you can get as long as you think you can comfortably duck dive and it’s not going to be massively fat as that volume can be spread over a long length and it’s a nice neutral easy to ride board without a crazy amount of rocker. If your still progressing and coming down from a longboard and not looking to go too short or make your life too difficult the Party Crasher would be a great choice. The RNF is also stable and a good paddler and heaps of fun but they do go pretty fast and may take a little more getting used to than a Party Crasher plus the shorter you go the less trim speed you get up paddling… What do you weigh and I assume you catch waves consistently and perform cutbacks etc on the open face? Sorry for the questions just don’t want to assume where you may or may not be at. I suspect the party crasher would be really good for you or even a mid length depending on the style your looking for going forward. Cheers.

@@lawson45uk Thanks for feedback and quick response - appreciate your efforts. I am a 90kg 176cm beginner - can't cut back yet, but am comfortable riding the face with slow turns. Just looking to plan the progression (i am not looking to buy right now) and know which boards to keep a lookout for on the second hand market. Sounds like the Party Crasher would be the better option - thanks. Would you say that it is better to go with a Crowd Killer as a midlength before progressing to a Party Crasher or is the overlap sufficient that you would go straight to 6.10 Party Crasher down from a 9.6 longboard? I have watched a lot of your videos and appreciate your insight - keep up the great work.Cheers.

@@richardr4781 Cool mate yeah have a look at the real watersports reviews on all of them I personally think the Party crasher would probably be a better board for you regardless to be honest I think the crowd killer has more rocker in general as it's more like a giant quiver killer where the party crasher is probably more like a giant rocket redux in very general terms but that's just how I see it. I think Matt Biolos says similar too in one of his reviews too. Other boards that might be worth a look maybe something like lazy toys or even like a seaside and beyond could be great for you. Really depends on where you plan to head in the future... If you want to develop yourself towards shorter boards in the Future something like the party crasher is a great gateway or even a straight in solution at 90KGs you could get something like this one exact one and learn the basics of shortboard skills and duckdiving without making things too difficult for yourself. Get yourself in at around 6'10"-7'0" and around 48-50 litres kinda thing is a nice progression from a longboard and there will always be a place for a longboard in a quiver. Hope that helps and best of luck with the progression. Hope whatever you choose helps you progress and still have fun. Dont make it too hard for yourself just yet stick to those stable easy to ride boards with a little more length than you need and progress from there next time your ready. Thanks

What recommendations would you make re tinting having given it a go on the purple (pink?😉) board yourself?
@lawson45uk
@lawson45uk 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah definitely… 1. Tint Qty, 2. Use a light colour while getting used to it. (Yellow is apparently the go for a first go) 3. Pay attention to spreading it more evenly. Bigest one would be more tint… I used a paste and checked in with a mate and did a test piece and felt it looked ok but it obviously needs a lot more. I have since found some recommended tint volumes as a starting point. The paste is fairly hard to get it to mix in really well and I think it sounds like you want it to look much darker in the pot that you think and test it again. Trust the test piece most.. That’s a good indicator what it’s going to look like. I should use the CLR resin too they don’t recommend using the BRT with colour as it’s got an optical brightner… Hopefully next one goes better 😊

Does this board get into waves easy on windy days. Looking at a 7 footer

Hi sorry got the late reply. Yeah PU construction is usually a bit more steady getting into windy waves than the lighter export boards. The party crasher is a really good all round higher volume big guys short board kind of design so really versatile for an intermediate rider. Cheers.
