Nickname Sawyer simple man. Man of faith. Remember when the smoke torments came to look over his acc. When he arrived shackled on the black Pearl? Remember he is heard mumbling a prayer that begins "Abba..Abba.." and his prayer is in his native tongue ... Smoke torments looks over his account, simply leaves with the sound of WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jaikq31_gJaFd7M ... What I found REALLY Interesting about the scene is the CLOSE UP Of Richards right eye and a love heart shape of his pink capalaries. ..Blu ray viewer here... He was a prayerful man, but prayed for forgiveness from a MAN (as witnessed) before he was to set off to the New World... Richard must not of prayed to God for forgiveness, coz he was receiving smoke torments... WATCH kzbin.info/www/bejne/a3mmnmOvoZaUmtk .... As for Ben in that scene,.. you know what a monster he was... he was waiting for his demise, which he knew was coming from his judgement... MORE SMOKE TORMENTS FOR BEN.kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYC4mYuqpqt_htE What I do not understand is how many did not know Ben was judged by JEHOVAH (GOD ALMIGHTY) You can Hear at 0.32 sec mark "YAHWEH" (How JEHOVAH is spoken in english).. MOST miss it... even the Knock knock knock knock knock sound people DO NOT GET.. Remeber this from scripture " Behold, I stand at the door and knock".

Perfect, beautiful scene, most particularly the idea that "they're already together" at 2:18. This makes complete sense in light of "The End" which portrays the idea that between life and death, there can be a place where in which there is no time - a place in which someone who died many years ago can somehow already be with you even though you haven't also died yet. She isn't necessarily meaning "they're already together" in this moment, in this scene; moreover, she could be more likely referring to the fact that outside of time and space - the people who are most important to us in our lives are already together in this special "place" between life and death which comes just before whatever you believe comes next... It would be no different if Juliet were to appear to Sawyer, Charlie to Claire or Shannon to Sayid - in their reality in the Sideways they've already found one another again, it's just that the living person hasn't completed their purpose in life yet to be there with them. I think if anyone going through life can hold that belief, it's a really powerful great comfort. Just to know that, in a way, the happy ending that hasn't happened to you yet is already present in a different reality, and that all you have to do is take comfort in knowing it is there, it is there already in some way, and that one day you'll really feel it. That's powerful stuff! Fantastic scene!

When you understand WHY Richard didn't age, and what he has seen and experienced, you feel a great sense of pity and sympathy for him. You understand the burden he has carried all these many years: ..the failure to save his wife, the accidental taking of a life, the belief that he is condemned, that he will never reunite in the next life with Isabella and that ONLY hell awaits him. You get the sense of torment within him being Jacob's consigliere, and being participant in activities like the purge of the Dharma Initiative.
