My two favourite lost character's in the same room. I miss Charlie so much and this scene remindered me just how much, his sweetness, his talent for comic relief. The way he talks about love in that beautiful, poetic way, "spectacular, consciousness-altering love"... I know exactly what he means.

@The10thDoctorForever Charlie is my all time fav character too. Missed him so much, can't believe he's only in four episodes in total in the final series - he should be in more! I demand it! lol I love Chesmond And I love Desmond too. But Charlie all time fav, cried loads when they killed him off, and this has been my fav ep of LOST in season 6 so far.

What I love about the sequence of events with Charlie in Season 6 on the plane is that what happens is EXACTLY what would have happens had the plane not hit the turbulence caused by the island. I've always felt Charlie choking on his hereon instead of trying to flushing it isn't just a random difference for the sake of being different. From this conversation we get the impression that Cindy didn't ask Charlie if he was alright. In fact we know this - for some reason Cindy didn't come over to him because Charlie didn't run past Jack to get away from her. I assume he used one of the tail section bathrooms instead. Why? I'm not sure. Could have been because the "cop" The Marshal, saw him holding first. I can't really figure it out. Anyways, because the island didn't exist, the extreme turbulence didn't happen, although it wasn't really the turbulence which caused him to drop the heroin in the toilet, that was caused by the flight attendant demanding he opened the door. Maybe that flight attendant wasn't on the plane in the flashsideways, which in turn, gave him more time to use his heroin and for the amount to be small enough to look like it was able to fit in his throat. There is some logic to this... I feel like we were given 90% of the pieces we just have to figure out the rest, the 10%.

Thanks for taking time to explain! I'd read that they did not die on the crash, which wouldn't have been very heuristic since a lot of the characters remaining at the end weren't on it. But I read that the light cave gathering happens after the sideways, which allowed them to explore what their lives could have been before accepting their deaths and entering the cave, so there is a form of time in the sideways. Why wasn't Des showed in the church if time doesn't matter and the the fact he died way after them doesn't change the reunion moment, as Boone who died way before? Plus I don't really understand the meaning of these sideways. They're related to the character's preoccupations and vision of life, but is it those s/he had before dying or on the island? If Des lived a happy life with Penny afterwards, what's the point of showing him searching for a life of love (as opposed to success)? Well, they're a lot of stuff I didn't completely figured out about Lost - like why did the people on the boat sent by Wildmore wanted to destroy the island, if they really wanted to - , all the more that I watched it some time ago. I mean, there are several moments when it seems that they're already didn't and the island is a sort of purgatory. Even if it's not it's still some sort of metaphysical place (which would explain all these hallucinations and supernatural/unexplainable events) where the characters learn to fix their traumas and move on in their lives... even though the fact they almost all die go against that statement.
