Sometimes they would re air the past weeks episode again before the new one and I could catch up that way. This was before Netflix started streaming, which seems like another era but like yesterday. Back when it aired, you'd get your Eastern time zone showing, your 3h later western time zone showing, and then they'd play it at least another time at an offhour prior to the next episode airing. Though if you missed all of the showings in the week, you'd be out of luck, and would have to go on their website to watch a 360p recap video back before youtube.

Lost aired in syndication on G4 while new episodes were still airing on ABC. I specifically remember watching seasons 3 and 4 on G4 before Season 5 began on ABC. The G4 airings also had a pop-up video type thing during the episodes highlighting easter eggs and trivia.
@orangehoof2 жыл бұрын
Hey, guys! Before DVRs there was something called the VCR. I had one in the '80s. So, you could "miss" an episode and watch it later. Plus, the seasons were released on DVD with bonus material by Season 2 or 3. But you are correct that if you missed an episode, you were surely LOST. Although ABC began re-airing the episodes of Seasons 5 & 6 with an explainer caption underneath to explain what you didn't understand. I figured that was because a) the show is confusing af and b) ABC's nightly programming was getting their asses kicked around that time so re-airing the episodes with cheat notes probably made ABC more money than a new lame sitcom showcasing deviant lifestyles.

@@juanitajones6900 I've always thought there was a sinister/dark element to the Temple, as the smoke monster hangs around in the underground chambers. I've been enjoying the series with you guys, 2 years later it seems. But, thought I'd comment about time travel, ha ha. I see 3 main ideas: 1. The BttF scenario, where people disappear because 'now they never existed'. This one is just silly. As soon as Marty McFly pushes George out of the way of the car and gets hit by it instead, by their theory Marty should cease to exist and disappear right away as he has interfered with his parents' meeting. Of course for the sake of the plot, he is given time to fix things so he does exist again.. but this makes no sense as things on the parents' relationship were now different, meaning Marty would be born different, at a different time, etc. So, we can discount this idea. 2. The 'Terminator' timeloop one, where they say that Kyle Reece was John Connor's father - also used here in Lost where Miles claims that Ben was always shot by Sayid; illogical nonsense too. Kyle Reece wasn't present in the original 1984 so couldn't possibly have been John's father. Likewise, Sayid wasn't around originally when Ben was growing up, so this is also nonsense for me. Writers think they're clever putting this kind of 'high-concept' stuff in movies and shows but it doesn't make logical sense. 3. I think, the simplest explanation: the BttF one, but you don't disappear because you're from another timeline. Marty and Doc can continue living and doing what they want in the past - creating whatever different futures they create, but it doesn't affect them. Why would it, as they are from a timeline where they did exist, you know? So in that respect, Marty shouldn't be disappearing. The real drama is that if he manages to get back to 1985, his parents won't be together and his home and siblings won't exist, neither will anyone have heard of him! Anyway, I entertained myself writing this, ha ha. Cheers, again.

She does like it! I'm strongly convinced now, you have to pay attention better! Just because people don't enjoy ONE fucking character, doesn't mean they don't enjoy the whole show. Ben isn't everything, he's not even the center of the whole story, proven by the fact that the writers actually planned to kill him off before the season 3 premiere! Also, her saying, she can't wait another week speaks loud enough, I would say! Lost is just the greatest show of ALL time and this channel shows better than many before, that it can be appreciated in many different ways. That's what's so beautiful about it!

So nobody’s told them they’re wasting their time with Lost??? One of the biggest let downs in TV series history

This show stopped making sense in season 3 or so.

This is a supernatural show since time travel doesn't exist, all the Jacob thing and the island itself is supernatural. How does that have to make sense since it's all made up? lol

@@yannhollister9091 that's a cop out. Even supernatural shows have to follow their own internal logic. That said, Lost does make sense.

@@havok6280 It makes sense in Lost fantasy world and i'm totally fine with that, i love the show. Some people are just too down to earth to enjoy this type of show, if that's the case just watch Breaking Bad and that's totally fine lol

@@yannhollister9091 if you don't think Breaking Bad exists in it's own fantasy world, I don't know what to tell you.
