In the summer of 2014, the Singing Wells Project embarked on a mission to repatriate the music of the Kipsigi People, recorded fifty years ago by Hugh Tracy. Working in association with ILAM and Ketebul Music, we uncovered the fascinating story behind the song Chemirocha.

Cheruiyot Arap Kirui, the original singer of CHEMIROCHA song passed on last week in Kipkewa village, Yaganek sub-location in Sotik, Bomet country. His body is slated to be interred on Wednesday this week, 26. 05. 2021.

Thanks for the work you did to get these songs back. In African Mythology beasts are considered as totems. I like the description of what the song is about.

Kwambai updates the songs of this kalenjin legends i really like it or who is having one of his songs may the almighty father strengthen those of them who are still a live,perfect songs also it good to remember them wherever they are.
