So many years after the show's ending, Michael Giacchino's amazing soundtrack for LOST still has many, many secrets to uncover. Not only does every main character have their own theme music, but much like the interconnected writing of the show itself, Giacchino's score connects locations, scenes, emotions and conflicts in unbelievably brilliant ways. For the foreseeable future, I will be exploring Michael Giacchino's soundtrack from ABC's LOST in a weekly video, covering all episodes of the show and their musical connections to each other.

Haha, I love that you confront Giacchino about how Faraday's theme is so wrong in the context. I like that the LaFleur motif came back in seasn 6 despite him not being LaFleur anymore. It was after all the most responsible and directorial role for Sawyer in his life and fitting that it's used when Sawyer negotiates with Widmore, almost commanding him. Despite that deep down one of them is a multimillionaire and CEO of a big company, while the other is a rebellious con man and former prison inmate. "War & conflict" certainly has been on a massive journey. It's one of the (many) themes I know as "oh, yeah, that's the tune" and it pops up every now and then.

I love how Giacchino has all these variations of the Lost Main Theme. Such a creative way to expand a popular theme to adapt to other scenes whether it be sinister, emotional or dramatic, in a similar way to the “War & Conflict Motif” “Locke’s First Motif” or “Sun’s Revenge Theme” which also has elements of “Widmore Motif” if that makes sense. 😁👍

For sure! And of course, the main theme is also often played together with Sun's 'revenge' motif (possibly because Sun references the crash in some of those scenes), which is pretty cool.
