We got a chance to ride the Evil Twin recently in fun, peaky, chest high surf. We will have a full review coming soon. I surfed the 6'4" with 43 liters which is a little more volume than I usually surf in the summer but it felt great in a full winter wetsuit. The board felt nice and slender with foiled rails which gave it the performance of a smaller board. I set it up as a twin fin with the Futures EN Twin Fin set for my first surf. As a twin, the board generated a lot of speed and had that skatey twin fin feel on turns which made it super fun. When I was able to get a good first pump and set the rail in the face of the wave the board felt locked in and drivey. Looking at the outline and round tail, I was a little surprised that the board felt squirrely on some late takeoffs. I had to nurse my turns a little and on steep drops it felt like the board was trying to slip out from under my feet. I think the trailer fin that Lost developed to go with this board will be the key to making the board feel stable and predictable with twins. I look forward to trying the board as a single fin and as a twin plus the trailer. This board has a lot of options and draws different lines than a small wave shortboard or traditional fish. It made the clean, peaky surf really interesting and fun. - Jake

amazing how surf board design goes in circles, maybe a bit of spiral. that looks pretty much like what I was shaping /kneeboarding late 70's early 80's.More refined in the rocker and rail configeration, same outline.

Absolutely! We've been riding this shape since my mom gave me her Lis fish/knee board in 1988. It's 5'6 MR type up right 4.5 twin fins, not his usual keel fin. Same single wing to a pin tail but 50/50 rails till the wing then turned down with hard rails on the tail. Goes insane up to solid 5-6 ft Newbs, Wind&Sea and my favorite, Simmons. Have a good one 🤙

Steve Lis shaped that same template for years here in Sunset Cliffs/Ocean Beach. My mom gave me her 5'6 in 1988. Still surf it. Only it's 50/50 rails till the wing then turned down rails with a hard edge. Goes so good up to 5-6 ft Newbs, and my favorite spot, Simmons. See ya in the line up 🤙

Trip is 6'3", his boards are definitely larger than most, we just had it out by Rodanthe Pier today and it doesn't ride like it has that much foam. Super smooth, more info coming soon in the full review!

Great board reviews. Can you give your height & weight when talking about dimensions on your boards just to give a little perspective? Thx :) cheers

Looks fun! Can you surf it as a traditional thruster? *meaning will a regular futures center fin fit in the center fin box or is the board meant to be surfed as twin/twin plus trailer?
@REALWatersports5 жыл бұрын
James, it is meant to be ridden as a twin plus trailer but they do have a trailer/thruster fin that is made for this board especially.
