Lost to the Light

A world of white brick and brimstone,
of high towers and spanning archways.
A world tamed and exhausted of wild
by the Demons under their crushing order.
And everywhere prevails a blinding light
that sears the skin and bleaches the soul.

Musical piece for the Brightworld of the most recent Universe I've created. The Brightworld is home to the Demons, or the Yakvika, children of the Arcane Enemy. They are rancorous invaders of other worlds and seek to destroy all life that is not of their form.
I wanted to convey something blinding (but not deafening) and bright, so I chose the trumpet to lead the louder sections. And I like the use of the harpsichord outlining the arpeggios in the middle section. It offers a sound that is both elegant and haunting
