I grew up in Victoria in the 90s - loved this attraction and still think of it often when I’m at the harbour. I was so delighted to see this video so I could relive those memories! Thank you for sharing

That's very cool - I'm glad I got to go one last time before they closed, but sad to lose a classic attraction.

I can't believe it's gone, this was so nostalgic. I remember going often as a kid. Thank you.

Fewer and fewer of these classic attractions around :( Fun to reminisce but sad that they are gone!

@@ExitThrutheGiftShop It is so sad, Victoria also had Crystal Gardens which has been shut down for so long. It was converted from a swimming pool, into an indoor garden with animals. I hate growing up because so much has closed since my childhood!

Okay, that explains it... I remember Undersea Gardens in Victoria from my childhood in the 1980's. My mom was born on the island and we regularly went out there from Calgary. The last time I saw it was when I visited Victoria for a weekend in 2010. When I went back with my wife in 2018, I wondered where the heck it was! 😆

Awesome trivia - Thanks!

Given that this attraction shared the same manager as the nearby Ripley’s and The Wax Works; which later became Louis Tussaud’s, you think they would’ve at least converted it or renamed it into Ripley’s Aquarium of Oregon.

I suspect the maintenance costs on the old structure were getting too high. Probably not work the investment, but still sad to see it go.

I don't know if it would attract today's audience - I think we're more likely to see something virtual like the National Geographic Ocean Encounter: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fme8eampqNyWfq8
