Lost and all alone I always thought that I could make it on my own But since you left I hardly make it through the day My tears get in the way, and I need you back to stay I wonder through the night And search the world for the words to make it right All I want is the way it used to be With you here close to me And I've got to make you see That I'm lost with out your love Life without you isn't worth the trouble of I'm as helpless as a ship without a wind A touch without a feel I can't believe its real And someday soon I'll wake and find my heart won't have to break Yes, I'm lost with out your love Life without you isn't worth the trouble of All I want is just the way it used to be I need you here with me Oh darling can't you see If we had love before we can have it back once more

Back when I was little, I felt sorry for the poor guy that got dumped! Now I am 58, and it applies to losing my brother so unexpectedly. Tonyboy, YOU WERE MY WORLD. RIP with Daddy.

Bread always produced brilliant melodies and tunes, a totally underated band who deserved much more coverage outside the US in my opinion.

The best boy in my school said out loud in 1979 that this was his favorite band. Then he married a nice girl from school & had a great job with IBM right out of achool because he was smart too. But then he died at 49 of a heart attack just like his Dad. So let's all live for the great ones who have gone before us💛

I was in that studio audience and watched that taping! I was on a High School trip to Hollywood. I remember how cool it was to be there. Great memory!

It has been an eternity that I heard this song. I really did not know it was a song by David Gates (Bread). Fantastic, an all time cassic.

Beautiful music, make me remember good times when I was at home as a child listening to the radio. I have already asked several Americans of my generation and few know them, for me, this is incredible. How many couples met to the sound of this beautiful music, which is so beautiful, it is eternal. Thank you Bread, thank you Mr Gates for composing such beautiful songs!!!

Jerri Martins - I loved Bread since I was 6 when their first album was released. Their music was beyond top notch incredible. You had ALL SEASONED STUDIO MUSICIANS that was Bread. I once met Larry Knechtel in Margate, Florida at the Banana Boat Bar. I couldn't believe it was really him, but it was!!! We had a few drinks, and he told me he arranged a played piano on "Bridge Over Troubled Water", which I didn't believe him at first. He aged a lot, then I had seen a photo of him later! I said damn! I should've got his autograph!!!
