This reminds me of my second ex girlfriend and her family. They're like Shiela's and Mr Bloom's family. She had cheated on me with her brother/cousin who used to be a friend of mine. Interestingly enough, while this was 20 years ago, she, her brother/cousin, and her family STILL hates me guts for dumping her, knocking her brother/cousin out, then basically outing the two for that incestuous relationship which led to her whole family being sick individuals inadvertently getting revealed.

A man I worked for in the automotive repair business for many years knew John Wayne before he died and was invited to his ranch to enjoy Rocky Mountain Oysters - which were actually Bull testicles . He claimed to know the actual place where "The Duke" was buried . He met him through his parents cattle transport business . They still had some old cattle cars at his brother's Diesel repair business . My boss was a good old boy and would foot the bill for any travelers that broke down on their travels and were short on funds . To my amazement - most of them sent back checks to pay for their services at a later date ... LoL !!!

Now this was my kinda' story. The baddies got justice served on them while the good guys and gals were nicely rewarded. The only sad part was learning of Duke's passing. Everything else was pretty much hunky dory 👍👍

The main characters in the story were badly wronged. She got free of her abusive ex and found a good man to love, but I don't think she really got any revenge. He got free of his abusive ex and the ex's criminal father, and maybe a little revenge. Not enough revenge... Then they live happily ever after. Nice story.
