Mr. Lamaali, you are a true inspiration to the masses -- keep it up, and this was a wonderful training -- I'm in Minneapolis Mn, trying to bring as much joy as possible with my dancing because of the tragedy that has taken place here recently, many are saddened and each night at sunset I go the the lakes in Uptown to dance, close to where Mr. Floyd lost his life. Trying to bring at least one smile to someone watching or walking by... even if just one smile was created that would not have been, your inspired work here is being done... much love for your work, please keep it up and keep dancing like no one is watching... because we all are.......

Dig it! So quick and smooth. I can do slow basic steps: Peter Pan, 180 switch etc but these moves require experience. Should I have my trucks looser perhaps? They aren’t right by any means… happy for anyone to answer. 🤙

@GeorgieChaos3 жыл бұрын
Raw beginner here, thanks heaps for doing this series. I was wondering about how much speed you need to have up before a sequence of dance moves like this is viable. Like, it seems like you want to have a stretch where you won't have to push for a little bit.
@oceanmm Жыл бұрын
it depends on how fast you are comfortable going, and it depends if the ground is flat or a bit angled.. longboard dancers normally push when the board slows down (and then go back to dancing right away).. at the end of his clip it looks like the bridge angled down a bit and he finished by going on the concrete (he was going fast and had the advantage of a slope). So basically test out which speeds work best for you and push if you are going too slow.. You can work on making one push strong, so you can keep moving without pushing for a while

@@oceanmm That makes sense, thanks lots.

i have a CHALLENGE for YOU : try and exchange your front truck for a CarverCX type truck and see what you can come up with:) wanna see what is possibkle with a surfskate truck its gonna be interesting because the amount of lean changes depending on where you stand on your Board cheers Marv

Great series, good job Lotfi. I Have a question: does the size of wheels makes a difference whille performing board dance? Beginner question from a beginner dancer:) greetings from Poland
@annaleonova79234 жыл бұрын
Yes and no, someone with experience might be able to ride and dance on any wheels. But with bigger wheels you're more likely to get wheel bite (when the board touches your wheel(s) and you fall off). If you want to learn to do tricks bigger wheels are heavier so it's harder to do tricks and the hardness and how grippy the wheel also plays a role.
@danmicklethwaite55854 жыл бұрын
@@annaleonova7923 with a few caveats: 1. wheelbite will depend a lot on the truck and board setup eg if you have a loaded dancer board (I have the Tarab) and some 1-2mm risers you can even run 85mm caguama's with 50degree 180mm paris savants without wheelbite (and I'm a heavy guy -85-90kg so I can turn those trucks quite a lot) 2. bigger wheels roll over imperfections with less disruption to your balance 3. bigger wheels will not feel as lively carving, so they might provide a little more stability when learning dancing footwork - like that in this video - as opposed to pop tricks - at least that is my experience switching between 85mm caguamas and 70mm stimulus wheels, the stimulus are not only lighter but the carving is much livelier - Lotfi gets very rapid carving on his rapid footwork using 65mm fat frees I think. 4. if you are looking to do pop tricks you might want to get as small and light a wheel as you are comfortable riding on whatever pavement you most regularly ride on. If rough pavement is a problem you may just go bigger.

Hi Lotfi! I use mirrorthevideo.com to mirror the video, for goofy riders like me. Could you please make a video (or include this info in one) about shoes. What's your recommendation on vulcanized vs. cupsole, durability, etc.? I'm not sure if the rules from regular skateboarding apply here to longboard dancing, because of different tricks. Could you suggest what worked best for you in terms of durability, comfort and board feel? Thanks!!
@edwardg48904 жыл бұрын
As brilliant as this video is, may I suggest instead of saying left/right side of the board, instead say heelside/toeside? It gets confusing learning while being goofy and you are, and therefore teach, regular. I feel that would help everyone learning, tremendously.
@mpix003 жыл бұрын
Do you want your trucks to be somewhat more on the loose side? Or is it a matter of balance / board rebound preference?
