I play the older Adventures in Middle Earth with my friends. They had to change some things for this new release, but both are very good. I stick with the older one because I know it better and it has more supplements for now.

No Riders of Rohan, but I do know that they plan on making more expansions to the game, so I could see that being one of them.

Ok…so I have heard repeatedly that you’ll need to know the 5e rules in order to play this campaign/setting. What specific rules is that? Outside of the action economy and combat…what other 5e base rules are needed if you play this using only the setting of LOTR?

Those are the main rules. If you are looking for the “complete” package, look into Free League’s the One Ring. That has combat mechanics and everything all rolled into one. This particular book is essentially just the One Ring minus those parts with the monsters retooled to match 5e’s encounter balance. Hope that helps!
