Also, if you even had average intelligence you would realize that House of the Dragon has been a massive success, another big fantasy show that everyone thought would be awful. But now everyone loves it because it's actually good. There hasn't been any "review bombing" or "trolling", even though there is way more reason for it after how mad everyone was at the end of season 8. This show is objectively bad. There is almost NOTHING good about it. Everything from the writing, the dialogue, the battle tactics and plot, the pacing, the characters, EVERYTHING is dogshit. Everything you said is just plain stupid.

I enjoyed the episodes i have seen so far. The adaptions to the Galadriel character was very different to what i imagined, and they have taken significance in developing new characters. I find it best with these TV adaptions to go with the flow, see where the show runners take it, and rate it based on how much i enjoyed it, rather than based on how loyal it stayed to the book.

I've somewhat enjoyed the first 2 episodes so far (the music, the visuals were great, some non-canonical characters are also interesting in terms of seeing how their story will develop) but i had a lot of disappointments as well - for ex. the elves were butchered in my opinion, they didn't give you that sense of being a distinctive race, of having that magical aura about them, they looked ordinary and lacked wisdom; the dialogue was awfull at times, even the main character Galadriel was turned into an annoying brat but tbh the writers didn't even try to make her look relatable and pleasant in these 2 episodes and this is a must in my opinion if you're going to portray her persona different that how Tolkien portrayed her but oh well i guess we'll just have to wait and see...

Do you mean to tell me that people couldn't relate to Frodo's character for his strong determination & courage beacause he was a hobbit ?! or Sam for his fierce loyalty, responsability & his friendship? in general characters who fight for the GOOD no matter if it's fantasy or superheroes usually need to be relatable to the general audience so as to feel (on an emotional level) their struggle, courage, sacrifice (the audience needs to be emotionally invested to a certain degree)etc. You've mentioned : "She's an elf queen"...funny enough i don't remember this being mentioned in these 2 episodes - even her company of elf warriors addressed her as "Commander !" and not as "My Queen", Elrond as well when he first interacted with her said at one point : "look at you, commander of the northern army, warrior of the wastelands"...and if i remember correctly in one of the trailers when she introduced herself in Numenor she referred to herself as daughter of the Golden House, commander of the armies of Gil-Galad 😂

The rest is just so dull and un-interesting. I absolutely hate Galadriel, she's such a douchebag to everyone. It's hard to care about a character when they're mostly just an asshole. She also has about as much character as a plank of wood.

It is indeed a shame that the actual plot, the story, is sooooo devoid of reason. Specialy the forging of the elven rings. The interaction with Sauron and Celebrimbor....Jesus...My god! Talk about cringe! I have been a huge fan of LOTR film trilogy as well as The Hobbit movies, I haven't read any Tolkien books which is probably a good thing cz this gives me a more open mind when watching this show and it's already been established that this show has deviated or not following the Tolkien books.. So far I love Rings of Power, the pacing was kind of slow at the beginning but it picked up really well after episode 5!! And that final episode was such a twist it blew my mind away!! The only critique I have for this show is their costume designs, for something with a huge budget of 1billion dollars, I have seen better costumes with way less budget than that!! But everything else was perfect, the visuals, the scenery, the characters, storyline and plots, I love it!!

Why attached and use Tolkien's world if their not gona stay true to the source material.. It would have been better if they would have just made a different show not related to Tolkien's world at all.. But they wanted to use Tolkien's world cz it's more popular and it has a huge fanbase.. But they ended up pissing off Tolkien's fanbase by not following the source material so in the end it's kind of meaningless..

TROP is the kind of show you expect to get from first time showrunners, who continue to say they respect the lore but don't. When Peter Jackson decided to make the Lord of the Rings everyone in a high level position on the film crew had read the books over and over and loved and respected Tolkien's work. They were always mindful of the thematic content and didn't put any of their baggage into the movies because they loved the mythology as Tolkien wrote it. J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay are NOT fans of Tolkien's work and it shows everywhere throughout this billion dollar dumpster fire. Their intent was to do the exact opposite of what Jackson did. No one in a high level position on this show is a dedicated fan of Middle Earth. The few true experts they hired like Tom Shippey were fired for disagreeing with Payne and McKay and what they were doing to the mythology. They have not respected the thematic material, canon or lore in fact, they have completely disrespected it. The unmitigated gaul of these two amateurs believing THEY know better than Tolkien how to write the second age of Middle Earth have produced a show that is bad across the board. Bad directing, editing, pacing, storytelling, acting, dialogue and generally all aspects of cinema except the CGI, and a billion dollars worth of that SHOULD be decent. If this story had nothing to do with Tolkien it would still SUCK! That they, in their infinite lack of wisdom, decided to dump ALL their PC and Woke baggage into the singularly greatest work of fantasy fiction of all time shows just how clueless they are. They wanted their story to reflect the world we live in today. Just one problem with that boys and girls, no one reads or watches fantasy fiction to be reminded of the world they live in. In fact, it is loved because it provides an ESCAPE from the world we live in today! Middle Earth is a fictional account of an English/Northern European pre-history. There were no black elves, black dwarf women without beards, black Harfoots/Hobbits or black or asian humans because those races did not live in this English/Northern European geographic location! Diversity has to make sense within the story parameters. The showrunners are total "Bad Reboot" untalented, uninspired and unsuccessful Hollywood hacks! The season ending "big reveals were laughable. Everyone knew Meteor Man was Gandalf even though he wasn't due to appear in Middle Earth for another thousand years or so. Everyone knew Halbrand was Sauron from the moment he appeared on screen. Warrior "Guyladriel" did not exist.....ever. Tolkien's Galadriel was so much more powerful than TROP's Guyladriel because she used her intellect and sorceress powers of persuasion to get what she needed. What she didn't need was to be a sword wielding, "Mary Sue/Karen", Zena warrior princess! Bezos must certainly be feeling buyers remorse for having hired Jar Jar Abrams incompetent production team. A billion dollars for a show that could have been great but for the clown car of talentless hacks that were put in charge of it. I hope the other 4 seasons get cancelled before the next 2 years pass. Let this abomination pass into history with all the fanfare accorded an unmarked grave. That's all it deserves. RIP TROP....you suck!

I've been reading Tolkien's books for 40 years, I've seen Jackson's great battle movies, and I've seen Season 1 of RoP hundreds of times. The only thing I really don't like about the series, is Galadriel's narcissistic personality and terrible lines. Regarding No. #9 The Númenor Set. They used the lever system to lift the horses into the ships, but they must have also figured out how to shrink the horses, because there is no way to fit over 150 horses and as many soldiers in one of these small ships! They had 500 soldiers to begin with, then 2 ships were blown up (hopefully without any horses). This means they had to load 500 soldiers and horses into 3 ships. It's impossible. These ships are streamlined, narrow and they sit high in the water and the bow is even above the surface at times (which it wouldn't be if the ship was carrying a heavy load). Just saying.

I wouldn't go that far. Peter Jackson had a whole written trilogy to work with and he still couldn't get it completely right. Arwen taking Frodo to Rivendell, really? This show doesn't have the benefit of a novel written from beginning, middle, and end to work with so people should expect certain things aren't going to be perfect because a lot of the unwritten gaps have to be made up to tie it all together.

No, but I think they're doing a pretty good job with what they have to work with. I don't think even Tolkien had a clear idea of what he wanted on every bit of lore that fell outside the scope of LotR and The Hobbit. He constantly changed story elements around in his later writings.

It's pretty clear they need to stop doing wire stunts and go back to choreographing interesting scenes. You can't just yank people around on rigs and expect them to be healthy afterwards, it's unfair to stunt people to turn everyone into superheroes crashing through brick walls.
