I guess as an older player pushing 30 I just really like the pace of the leveling. For me the enjoyment comes from the well crafted quests. Even though a lot of them are generic fetch quests I find myself always reading the dialogue. This is the first MMO where I genuinely care about the story. I’ve played for about 10 hours and I just finished all the quests in the dwarven starter zone. Now Bree-land awaits!

GOD THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. I am returning player and I have been really put off by trying to figure out all the different content (and the why run it) that has been added. Like the differences between instances, big battles, quest, missions, skirmishes. it gets so overwhelming and they do not do a good job of explaining the differences.

Ok. This is my kind of thing. I go missions, 1 hour XP boots, and 25 XP scrolls. I can get around 5+ levels per hour. Or about 30-40 lvls in an 8 hour day of playing.

Return to Erebor travel has only a 5 minute CD and a nearby dwarf stable will pop you to a relatively safe spot in Mordor with many travel options. Also it helps to get kin with Lone Lands as Ost Guruth is really handy when your travel to Bree is on CD. Also make sure you get travel to Galtrev, Aldburg Dol Amroth and Osgiliiath as they are great hubs for travel to certain places, it's very easy to get to 21st hall from Galtrev for example.

Does it matter which zone missions I do while leveling? Do gundabad missions have any advantages over the other mission sets for the late game?

I've never heard of missions and I've been playing for several years! I don't have much time to play, but I follow LOTRO Player News and I haven't caught that missions were added. And I'm VIP.

Is it normal to feel like super lost? After the tutorial none of the quests make sense. I can't find anything. The map looks really tricky and messy. I just logged out as I felt overwhelmed and dumb as nothing made sense. I read the quests I found multiple times and couldn't even find any of the npcs or targets it told me to find.

Hey so if someone could help me it would be amazing I have never played this game and I really really want too but when I go to create an account it just goes to the lotro website and says it's down for maintenance we will be back shortly but that was 2 days ago now is this normal?

i personally would not prioritize Finesse over Crit rating. even while leveling. because mobs die so quick these days anyways Crit just provides more. Resists/misses/evades aren't that common from my experience unless your % on it is really really low.

Missing is bad though and crit doesn't add much? This is something that has been studied since early days of WoW at the very least. But it is true if you are at the cap, finesse or any stat really is useless

@@Mistweaver88 Yep bad phrasing, meant stat cap not level cap! Basically I think 1% hit is better than 1% crit. Plus 1 finesse gives more % hit than 1 crit gives % crit. At least this is based on if you translate "finesse" to "hit" like in old WoW and some other games. I havent heard finesse being different than hit in lotro but don't know for sure

That won't happen. New Engine = New Game from the ground up and that won't be occurring with this version of the Lord of the Rings. If there ever is another LOTRs MMORPG, it won't have anything to do with LOTRO.
